Reminder: Stephen Colbert visiting David Letterman tonight

As we mentioned here earlier, we have a Stephen Colbert doubleheader tonight, first on The Colbert Report and then on The Late Show with David Letterman (and Letterman’s musical guest for the night, Grizzly Bear, is still making me smile). Don’t forget to set your TiVos, kids.

I’d also like to take this minute to say how much I love it when these guys host each other. I’m really bummed that Conan isn’t in New York any longer; he and Stephen were always a funny pair. And I can’t tell you how much I wish Craig Ferguson filmed in New York — he and Stephen could have teamed up for a truly epic redux of Ferguson’s recent “Oops! I Did it Again” performance.
Oh well, I’m very glad Mr. Letterman is still in the Big Apple, and I’m sure we’ll have another entertaining interview to watch and rewatch after tonight.

I do not have a DVR, but I do have an unreasonable sleeping schedule which means I will definitely stay up to watch this!

My fan girl heart would explode if Craig and Stephen were to appear on each others shows!!
I remember Craig telling the story of how they met in the men’s room at last year’s Emmy’s. I’m sure this brief encounter was the highlight of their night.

Maybe Stephen will appear on Conan’s show when he is in LA for the Emmys!!! That would make my heart happy! I don’t think he has ever been on The Tonight Show, has he?

just so you know – grizzly bear WON’T be playing on letterman tonight. according to a band member’s twitter, letterman ran out of time.
this makes me sad because grizzly bear is a really good band. but i’m also cautiously happy because this might mean things with stephen ran long.

I have to second, third, fourth, seventh, whatever, the comment that Stephen and Craig Ferguson need to appear on each other’s shows! They would be so hilarious together. I know Stephen doesn’t get out to LA except for the Emmys, but Craig comes to the New York area occasionally. In fact, he’s scheduled to be in NYC next weekend for BookExpo America, where he’ll be pulling the same Saturday morning hosting duties that Stephen did two years ago. I’d love to see him visit Stephen on TCR.

I’m really sad that Stephen and Conan aren’t in the same town anymore. I hope that he will come by at Emmy time as luvtcr suggests. Conan is great at playing along with Stephen. Oh well, maybe in September.
