Hullo, hullo, everyone!
I know I wasn’t the only one who giggled last night when Stephen brought up Elian Gonzales during his interview with Julia Sweig. Fans of the comedic gold that was The Daily Show‘s old “Even Stev/phen” segments can hardly fail to recall what happened when Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert discussed this boy’s fate back in April of 2000. In remembrance of that, I thought it high time we revisited the segment here at NFZ. Enjoy!
Now that’s what I call a “klassic” clip! I don’t know who’s better at fake crying – Steve or Stephen. I adore Steve Carell. Why hasn’t he been on the Colbert Report yet? Although I’m not sure my TV could handle the sheer awesomeness that would be Stephen and Steve on TCR.

Love these guys together! I agree with blt- would love to see Steve on The Report and, as a bonus, Stephen on The Office!

Agreed! What about Stephen and Steve making simulataneous guest appearances on 30 Rock vying for the affection of Tina Fey?!

Haha! I believe that’s affirmative;) Hmmm…who would win her affection? As a twist, Jon Stewart could sweep her off her feet at the end of the episode. Of course, I would still root for Stephen.

On a few of these Even Stevphens (including this one), I am just amazed at the quality of the acting. Not that I don’t know our boys are up to it, but I’m impressed every time. They really are quite good! Oh yeah, funny too! ;)
(this one is one of my all-time faves!)

Another good one that features colbert crying is the Even Stevphen with Ed Helms about the Iraq War.
Also the clip with Colbert doing a faux interview with Amy Sedaris is one of THE best TDS clips I’ve seen and a possible predecessor to Charlene.
