Howdy, all! I think it will surprise none of our readers here that I’m a bit — a bit — of a nerd, and it should also surprise none of that I began my day by wishing William Shakespeare a very happy 445th birthday.
Happily, Stephen (despite his stated aversion to books) has betrayed a clear soft spot for the Bard in any number of segments, so please indulge me as I celebrate my nerd-dom by revisiting a handful of my favorites. Enjoy!

Nerds unite!
I was lucky enough in high school to have a built-in “nerd herd”-like gifted program that protected us academic kids from the effects of bullying. Kids can be so cruel to the “losers” and I’m glad Stephen found a way to grow up and drain the abscess of rage with his ravings everyday on the show.

Thanks, Ms. Interpreted – the Stephen Greenblatt interview is one of my favorites, especially the quote-down at the end!

While I didn’t really study a lot of Shakespeare in college, my teacher in lit crit told me that Stephen Greenblatt is one of the best Shakespearean scholars right now. This interview’s a favorite, definitely. :)
