Fangirl Suit Report- Week of April 6

Welcome to the Suit Report, everybody! I trust everyone is having a good Easter, whether that consists of going to church in a fancy hat, or in my case, rotting out your teeth on chocolate bunnies and jelly beans. But without further ado:
Monday, April 6
Stephen kicks off the week in a black pinstripe suit, a bright red tie with a square pattern set against a lovely cornflower blue shirt, and barrel cuffs.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- high society foot tea.
- Tom Brokaw is lookin’ sharp!
- Little Miss Pink Sweater Set.
Tuesday, April 7
He dons a black suit, a mustard gold tie with a square pattern, and a light periwinkle striped shirt. Hooray for french cuffs!! BKAD: Black suit, striped white shirt; navy, red, and gold striped tie.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- I’m diggin’ the surgical glove/reacher-grabber combination.
- Moustachio’d interviews ROCK!
- I hope that shotgunning didn’t ruin that suit.
- Queen Noor is gorgeous.
Wednesday, April 8
Black pinstripe suit, crisp, white shirt, rich burgundy tie, barrel cuffs. Just another perfect outfit. I think he’s looking particularly foxy tonight, what do you think, folks?
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- I laughed REALLY hard at that Where in the World” sequence. Khaki vests ahoy! But where’s the kerchief? I thought necksweat was the gravitas killer. (reference get, anybody?)
- Standard issue. I look forward to doing that FSR.
- Sexy body doubles! Nice ties. But you’re gonna need pinstripes. and maybe a shirt.

Thursday, April 9
The suit is a black pinstripe, paired with a light steel gray shirt, a silver tie with diamond pattern, and barrel cuffs.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- Money fingers!
- I mean, who doesn’t have an extra severed toe lying around?
- decapitated!Stephen! But how am I supposed to comment on your outfits now? You’re putting me out of a job there, Stephen.
I mean, until Stephen gets his head reattatched to some prisoner’s body (I am just making references all over the place!) I’ll have no need to tell whether he’s wearing barrel or french cuffs!! By the way, which do you prefer?

Oooh, I love French cuffs. And that pantsless Stephen killed me (with laughter) when I first saw it.
(This was just what I needed to counteract horrifying images from Bizarre Foods before I go to sleep!)

Props to you for even being able to watch Bizarre Foods to begin with. I’m nauseated after the first 5 minutes of the show so kudos to you for being able to watch an entire episode.

I don’t usually have any problems watching him eat the stuff (or at least the revulsion is mild enough to be amusing, akin to watching Jon eat Baconnaise-dipped pancake-and-sausage), but I don’t want to watch anything killed and bled. ::shudder:: I should have popped in “A Colbert Christmas” to cheer myself up.

Yay! Suit report! I vote for French cuffs too and that “Where in the World…” segment just killed me! Also – I think the tie on Monday was my fave! ;) You have some awesome screencaps here!

There’s a lot of things I could say about Wednesday’s body doubles, but for now, I’ll just go with, Y-U-M! I did enjoy watching one of them try not to laugh as Stephen finished the bit. Cute shirtless body double = It-Getter

My vote is also for French cuffs. They’re so Stephen! A lot of black suits this week, surprisingly. I wonder who picks out his tie/shirt combos. He always looks great.
Also, there must be a pic of Stephen in a pink shirt or tie. Congresswoman “pink sweater set” said in a local (to her) interview that there’s nothing wrong with pink, and that Stephen should try it. If I could find a pic of him in pink, I’d send it to her. Or we all could! Fun!

1) definitely french cuffs
2) I also noticed that Brokaw looked especially dapper! He and Stephen were a matched set of handsomeness.
3) I think Stephen looked especially snappy both Tuesday and Wed. (and he + Queen Noor was another overwhelming combination of beautiful!)
4) the body doubles. oh my. the African-American gentleman’s abs … they’re like a weapon or something! sheesh! I confess to being a little mesmerized.

i really love this feature. i seem to respond to the details & the color combos. i was kind of jazzed to see stephen in thursday’s black/grey/silver – i like the starkness. i’d love to see more cream or tan on him, play up him eyes a bit.
huh. i have given this a LOT of thought.

A barrel cuff looks more like a button; usually maintaining a rounder, more natural cuff shape. But do you see how in Tuesday’s picture the cuff flattens out at the end? That’s a french cuff because it’s put through the cuffholes on the outside with a bit of decoration at one end. This is a french cuff:

Man, I can’t wait to find out what he wore on the 16th; I have an Yves Saint Laurent that looks vaguely familiar (Grey pinstriped, double-breasted…) Hoping to be able to brag that he wore the same (if’n I’m right.)

well, I just submitted the most recent FSR, so that should be in soon. And sorry! Stephen gets all of his wardrobe from Brooks Brothers each night. but I did love that suit!
