NODE 3 VOTING UPDATE: “Colbert” still in the lead with almost 200,000 votes cast in his name
BySince Stephen mentioned the Node 3 voting on his ‘Today Show’ appearance this morning, I thought I’d check in with NASA to see how the votes stand thus far.
According to Jacob Keaton from NASA, as of this morning, the voting stands as follows:
- 191,742 for Colbert
- 176,808 for Serenity
- …and we’ve had 1,102,257 total votes.
Colbert is winning, but the Whedonverse is catching us fast. Stay strong, Nation, and keep voting every day until the contest ends tomorrow! Keep voting for “Colbert”, endure to the end, Viva Stephen Colbert!

You know, I just watched all of Firefly on hulu, and I gotta say… it sucks to get into a show that’s already canceled. So after having voted for Mr. Colbert more than ten times, I just threw one in for Serenity. Now I got to go see the movie.

Has anyone noticed just what Node 3 does?
From NASA: (partial list)
* Water Recovery System (WRS) and Urine Processor Assembly (UPA), which take waste water from the station and purify it, separating any contaminants and making it safe for the crew to drink.
* Waste and hygiene compartment, which provides a place for the crew to use the bathroom in a way that allows the station to process the majority of the water used onboard so that it may be used again, greatly lessening the need for resupply flights from Earth.
