    comedic foibles. :D

it takes a lot to get me out to the movies, but if I could do The Love Guru I should be able to see this one!

Great interview!! :D I loved his comment about laughing at the recording sessions.

And might I add as the resident FSR fangirl-in-chief, he looked very cute. :)

    • Tiger says:

haha, yeah, I was thinking “oh, nice layers” even though it probably wasn’t even intentional.

      • VerbalTypo says:

hahahah. I like Stephen’s out-of-charater laid back style. It’s preppy without even trying.

        • ColbertGirl27 says:

I agree. Very few people can pull off organic preppy:) How would you describe his shirt? Educate me!

Maybe we need a Fangirl Casual Report as well. Just kidding. The suit report is work enough I’m sure:)

I just love Stephen out of character as well. We need to see more moments like these. He’s cute here. But that’s not new.

I loved that “organic preppy” ColbertGirl.

He seems so funny and sweet.

  3. MaryLovesColbert says:

He is just adorable in this video, I love his layers too! Haha! It’s great to see him out of character, it always is. And it sounds like he had a lot of fun doing the movie! :D

  4. Laaaura says:

That was a nice little interview! I love how he dresses when he’s doesn’t have a suit on. He’s so cute and preppy! I, too, really love the layers! It’s funny how he seems to do a little nod indicating that he’s done with his answer and that the person can ask the next question haha. I look forward to seeing this movie!

  5. Caitlin says:

Stephen is Captain Adorkable in this ;)

    • wren says:

I think Captain Adorkable is my new most favoritest title! If I was a super hero, I’d want to be Captain Adorkable. Or at least his nerdy sidekick.

  6. vigwig says:

OMG how cute was that? Loved the line about his VO going for “hollow certainty”. :)

  7. lulubelle says:

Well that’s about the best endorsement for a movie for me, if Stephen Colbert laughs his way through the script, I’m going to see it!

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up 0

    • MaryLovesColbert says:

Haha! That’s true! It seems the movie has gotten the Colbert seal of approval. So, I’ll probably go and see it. =D

  8. mrtigger001 says:

Yeah, Monsters vs. Aliens looks like a legitimately funny movie that I definitely wanna see. Here’s hoping it lives up to and surpasses what was shown in the trailer.

  9. ColbertGirl27 says:

When he looked right at me at 1:10 to say he hoped he hadn’t given anything away, I melted.

  10. wildlymissingthemark says:

    hotness! loved the khakis.
this movie is going to be so great. i just wonder how does he find time to do this stuff with tcr? isn’t this all done in Cali?

    • wren says:

Well voiceovers are just in studio anyway, so I’m guessing they’d do his bits in NYC. Not that I know, just guessing.

just what i needed to see after a long day of school. ftw!

  12. bipolypesca says:

I know the movie isn’t even out yet, but what I’m really looking forward to is the extras on the DVD (surely a 2 DVD set). Usually they have footage of the actors in the studio doing the voices, gesturing like mad, screwing up, laughing themselves silly, etc. I’m sure the movie will be great fun, but I’m really pulling for those Colbert-y extras in a few months or so.

  13. i was ready for this movie weeks ago when i hunted down 3-d glasses for the super bowl trailer. :D can’t wait!

  14. Suburbiana says:

    I love it!

    - Hollow certainty!
    - a maverick!
    - that inadvertent eyebrow move!

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up 0

  15. Lisa says:

Ahh, out-of-character interviews are always fantastic. I know the trailer was in 3-D during the Superbowl, but does anyone know if the movie is too?

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up 0

    • Ms Interpreted says:

      Yes.

I believe theaters can offer a regular, 2-D version of it, as well, but it’s being marketed as a 3-D movie. Probably not unlike this Spring’s Coraline, to bring this back full circle to the awesome Neil Gaiman interview. :)
