Fangirl Suit Report- Week of March 9, 2009

By Verbal Typo on March 15th, 2009 ·

fangirl-suit-report-logoThis is the new weekly No Fact Zone Fangirl Suit Report, giving you the rundown on Stephen’s nightly gettup. Because let’s face it: Every fangirl (and boy!) is crazy ’bout a sharp-dressed pundit.

Monday, March 9.

Monday’s episode served as an excellent day for my first week of Fangirl Suit Reporting! Stephen opens the show in a white undershirt, powder blue boxers, and slippers! Adorable!! Looks like someone forgot to turn his clock forward.

Later, he switches to a lovely black pinstripe suit, a light gray striped shirt with barrel cuffs, and a black tie with silver dots.  Then Stephen changes it up again and puts on a bolo tie with cow-skull fastener. (BKAD: Black suit, striped shirt, gold tie with charcoal gray squares, black striped sock, and chocolate brown oxford shoe.)

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

  • I liked Hannigan’s dress!
  • Did I hear something about a “work diaper?” Moving on.

Tuesday, March 10.

I couldn’t decide whether his suit was black or a deep navy.  I’m leaning towards black.  Anyway, he had a white striped shirt with barrel cuffs, and a lovely hunter green and baby blue striped tie.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

  • I thought he looked really cute during that satellite interview, didn’t you?  Well, you know. Cuter than usual.

Wednesday, March 11.

Today, Stephen donned a black suit with a wide pinstripe, a light lavender shirt with barrel cuffs, and a deep plum tie with a periwinkle and light purple square pattern.  He looks gorgeous in that color.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

  • I got a kick out of that VAXA-PLEA straight-jacket!
  • Did you notice anything different about his hair?

Thursday, March 12.

Does it feel like a black pinstripe suit week to anybody else? He also wore a solid pale blue shirt with French cuffs and cuff links, and a french blue tie with silver ring-shaped pattern.  I still have that issue of Esquire of which he spoke! There’s a fantastic article in there about men’s fashion, as I recall.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

  • Achma-casual-Friday-ijad!
  • Putin can really rock a turtleneck.
  • Very expensive shoes. Hot-cha!

Well, that concludes this week’s edition of the Fangirl Suit Report. Feel free to discuss the subtle nuances in Stephen’s tie color or the true joy of a chocolate Oxford shoe with a deep patina in the seams… I get serious goosebumps! but I digress. Have at it!

I definitely loved Stephen’s wardrobe at the start of the show on Monday. ;) And I really love whenever he wears cuff links. His big smile in that fourth picture is just too cute. =)

Stephen’s smile needs to be posted in every dentist’s office in America.

recatpcha: polygamist’s sacks (This reminds me of Stephen poking fun at the polygamist scandal on Larry King since he sadly had to follow that segment.)

I mentioned after Wednesday’s show that I like when Stephen wears cufflinks, and on Thursday night’s show, he wore cufflinks. Coincidence? Probably. But I’ll believe what I want to believe… ;)

Thanks for the report and the eye candy, verbaltypo! I love the photo of him “typing” on his Mac– not only because it’s adorable, but also because I’m a Mac user. *sigh*

Indeed – we’ve rolled out three this weekend alone! I’m so excited that we’ve got so many different Zoners that want to help contribute to content. It’s really going to take this blog to new heights, I think.

The amazing thing about this report is, other than a few small formatting edits and the addition of the screencaps, verbaltypo did this all on her lonesome. She came up with the fantastic format herself, and wrote all the copy.

Excellent work, verbaltypo!

Hooray! I always loved the fangirl suit report in the original text-only version, but the pictures are a great addition. In that “yippee! pictures!” spirit, I have a small formatting suggestion: would it be possible to have it go date, photo, then description? Then the detailed description becomes the caption to the photo, if that makes sense. (Take it or leave it, but keep up the great work!)

The only problem with that is that the first date runs into our handy dandy icon image for the post. (I tried that originally).

We’re still fiddling with the final content – we’ll do what we can. :)

I could get closer cropped in screencaps…? or do we want the whole set?

Excellent job verbaltypo! I don’t know how you determine the particular shades for Stephen’s attire, but I believe I’d need to consult a box of Crayola crayons:)

I LOVE the Fangirl Suit Report logo. Do you have a larger version of it? I’m definitely using it as my new wallpaper…on the computer that is:) Turning the letter “i” into a tie was genius!

P.S. I also loved Lisa Hannigan’s dress.

Oh, I’ve always been a bit of an aficionado for names of colors. I’m going to try to keep it as fresh as possible every week. :)
And DB made the logo! I love it to pieces! :D

Love the expanded suit report (esp. the eye candy screencaps) – great job, verbaltypo!!
Tuesday marked the return of my Favorite Tie Ever (though maybe not showcased so well with the black suite/white tie – it’s very nice with a baby blue shirt.)
The lavender theme on Wednesday was fabulous, but for some reason the extra swept-back hair weirded me out.
And Thursday’s screencap just makes me happy. Happy happy.

*ahem* reCaptcha appears to be having a fangirl suit moment, too.

I am going to love this new feature! Kudos to nofactzone!

My opinion–I love him in pastels and hate it when he wears black ties (except for that super-gorgeous black tie he wore with the roses in relief, that one was lovely).

wow, this is not at all how I was envisioning this…in that is it WAY BETTER! great work verbaltypo! I don’t have nearly that vocabulary for describing clothing/colors; I’m in awe! :D

Stephen’s very dark hair makes the lavender shirt really stand out. And bolo tie in 2009 = hilarity

Great feature!

I was in the studio for Tuesday’s show and I’m leaning towards dark navy.

side note: without any consultation, I and my taping buddy bipolypesca, Britt and her guy – all four of us in the front row – had on blue shirts, jeans and black shoes. We looked like a conspiracy… Coincidence? I hardly think so.

Fun? Fun is the understatement of the year. I can’t think of words to describe how much fun I had…

And the fun continues: I had fun this morning when I screamed into my coffee cup and cracked up my 12 yr old son. Fun forever!

Definitely dark navy.

And that outfit coordination of ours was seriously freaky.

Oh! THIS is a fantastic new feature. This was just the little squee-fangirl boost I needed during lunch. Thanks for taking the time to do it! (not that it’s hard work to stare at Mr. Colbert, lol)

On Wednesday, there was definitely something different about his hair. I was discussing this with one of my friends, he has a weird sort of poof going on. I wasn’t particularly fond of it. It seems like the hair stylist is toying with us! Bring back the fluffiness!!

Anywho, thanks for doing this. It was fun to see all of Stephen’s adorably sharp suits. =D
