SIX DEGREES: Tim Meadows improv show this Sunday, featuring Greg Hollimon

If you’re in the Chicago area, I highly recommend you make yourself over to the iO Chicago Theater for Tim Meadow’s improv show ‘Uncle’s Brother’ tomorrow. ‘Strangers With Candy’ principal Greg Holliman (Onyx Blackman) will be a featured performer on the stage, which makes this a must-see show. Greg and Tim have been friends since their days in the touring company of the famed Second City comedy troupe in Chicago. The show plays on Sunday, March 1st at 10:30 PM in the Del Close Theater – tickets are $10.

If you’re not able to make it to the show but are jonesing for some Meadows and Hollimon, enjoy their performances in ‘Let Freedom Ring’, from Season 1 of ‘Strangers With Candy’.

  2. I would love to be able to go to this! I looks like a lot of fun and I’m a fan of both Greg Holliman and Tim Meadows.

Also, this episode of SWC is one of my favorites.

I wish I could could go! Since it’s too expensive to live in New York, I hope to move to Chicago within the year so that I can catch fabulous shows like this one, attend Second City productions…and be closer to New York:)

Glad that you’re moving back. Then I’ll have a fellow Zoner in the area:) Besides the bitterly cold winters, is there really a downside to living in Chicago? I hear nothing but good things.

in terms of the actual city and not the suburbs, for youngish urbanites there are very few downsides. it can be expensive, like all big cities are, and the weather will challenge every atom of your being on occassion, but if you are into arts and culture, it is the best place to live. let me know when you move, and i’ll see you at an improv show!

I’ll vouch for the truly awful weather in the winter (it was 10 when I left the house this morning). But as long as you can survive that, Chicago is a fantastic city! I came here from the east coast several years ago and had so much fun I decided to stay.

@ wildlymissingthemark & W&M_NU: Thank you so much for your input! Maybe I’ll visit Chicago later this year to get a feel for the city.
