I saw a copy of Glenn Beck’s newsletter here that said included this quote (internal link omitted): “Guess who was on Colbert? Glenn is a fan of the Colbert report—but it’s a little tougher when you are the one in the hot seat, like a certain cable news host was last night. But if you can’t laugh at yourself then who can you laugh at? Watch the laughs at Glenn’s expense here.”
I guess Glenn is a proponent of the “there’s no such thing as bad publicity” school, which is lucky in this case. Believe me, I’m going to be laughing at these lines for a long, long time:
- “Glenn climbed into his genius cannon and lit the fuse …”
- “Glenn held his smart gun to his head and pulled the brilliant trigger …”
- “[W]ith the brain train a-comin’, Glenn strapped himself to the clever tracks …”
- “Glenn climbed the wisdom tree, dangled the logic rope and hanged himself until he was dead right.”
Here’s that utterly hilarious segment again:
Whomever came up with those lines deserves to be bought a beer by everyone watching the segment that laughed – they were F-ing brilliant! As avid GB haters my wife and I were rolling with laughter.

That segment was simile gone berserk, but it was one of the funniest friggen segments on the show in a long while. Props to Beck for being able to laugh at himself as a lot of those overly serious folks over at Fox can’t seem to do the same.
