I love it when guests, and their friends, dish about their backstage appearances when they appear on the ‘Colbert Report’. Here’s some wonderful dish from Brittny Saunders, Policy Counsel at BeTheChangeinc.org.
‘Colbert Report’ staff greeted us and walked us through the halls and into our very own green room. We snacked on a delicious assortment of cookies, chips, and fresh fruit and talked until Colbert himself joined us for a quick hello. Soon Chad, Erik and Brent joined the audience in the studio. I stayed backstage to soak up as much “behind the scenes” insight as possible: the photos of stars like Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp, the large portrait of Colbert dressed as an international pop star, and all the mic checks and make up that go into making the show a success each night.

Stephen Colbert signed the Declaration of Service…as “Eugene Trubnick” (he signed it with his real name backstage). And we’ve got the pictures to prove it. Go here now to join Colbert, add your own signature, make a pledge, and learn how you can join the movement to make voluntary citizen service a central part of the American ethic.
Here’s another picture from backstage – go check out their Flickr account to see the entire slideshow. Also, if you want to get the latest scoop at the Service Nation, check out their Twitter feed.

The picture where Stephen is signing the piece of paper almost makes him look like a wax figurine.
One of these days it would be so cool if Madame Tussauds made wax models of Jon and Stephen. They really deserve that honor and it would definitely cool to check out and an opportunity for Stephen to have some fun.

Madame Tussauds…GET ON IT! It really would be great to see Jon and Stephen together in wax form. Great suggestion!

How cool is that?! I wish I could have posed in front of the desk. And the green room is actually green. :-)
I’m a sucker for these “behind-the-scenes” pieces.
