Wow! I enjoyed this episode of The Colbert Report so very much!!! I will definitely watch it again several more times after the online videos become available. The Lawrence Lessig interview was cool, and I loved “Yahweh or No Way” as well as the leg wrestling segment. Wasn’t it funny when Stephen took a bow after the pumpkin pun? I half expected him to get out his Peabody Award like he used to do after a bad pun.
It will be interesting to see if anything comes out of Stephen’s challenge to Rep. Chaffetz and the entire Fox 13 news team….

I called it yesterday. They will be a match. I just didn’t expect it to be with others as well. Hands down win. Anyone want to place some bets?

The Leg Wrastle Challenge was great because he didn’t stop there and had additional videotape of shame…
I wonder if the book with Snoopy ™ in it will end up on eBay… and if it does, how much it will go for.

Watching the TDS/TCR toss, I noticed that Jon and Stephen have almost the same pattern on their ties. Hehe, sorry I have a habit of noticing the little things.
And I loved the TOC! “Run, Maria, ruuuun!!!”
Also: “I wanted to be the meat in a Bush sandwich!!”

I especially loved how Colbert told Chaffetz that he’d let him win the last match…and then didn’t. lol

“He would never say ‘Oh Pumpkins,’ because he would never take the gourd’s name in vain.”
That’s awful. *snicker* :)

It was especially funny because earlier that evening my DH and I had a conversation about different gourds (louki ) and winter bitter melons. LOL

Heh, I wish he would take out his Peabody for the bad puns again. That was always hilarious.
This show just had so many quotable moments! “The hills are alive” was great. I also LOVED when Stephen referred to Blago as a “Lego Hair Model.” That just killed me. He does have very round, sort of snapped-on hair! When he called him “Cranial muskrat smuggler” earlier this week I just about died.
I’m getting very excited about this emerging Leg Wrestling saga. We haven’t had a good feud in a while. Chafets seems like he really gets it, so I think this will turn out excellently. The stretching after the rematch videos was just so elegant. I had never tried leg wrestling before, so when I tried it with my mom last night I died laughing. It makes you feel so rediculous. XDD
Go get ‘em, Stephen! Krunk their Yunkies!

The “Lego hair model” line left me laughing for an hour because it’s SO true!

I love it when Stephen is so very proud of his bad jokes. The “pumpkin” pun bow was delicious, especially capped with a Sierra Mist plug. It always amuses me when he blatantly plugs a product.
I enjoyed the Lissig interview a lot, especially from a blogger’s perspective. I loved when he stated that Stephen and Jon taking the news and building comedy around it was basically a type of mash-up. I wonder what Lissig would think of a fan blog like this? Maybe I’ll write up some thoughts about it in my Friday Free-for-all post today.

Cookie Monster ate his Peabody so we have to settle for Sierra Mist instead :-(

Hahah! That’s right, his Peabody was eaten by Cookie Monster. Maybe he could get out his Emmy next time instead. :-)

that interview was interesting. some Lessig people (I dunno, fans?) seem to think he didn’t get his point across well, which was probably true. based on what I’ve read about the book, he did a decent job with everything that I could take in during a Colbert interview.
my favorite was the leg wrestling rematches. I am glad we did get more footage! plus, I liked how it was following by desk-stretching!
I honestly didn’t expect Colbert to respond to them at all. maybe I have been dulled to random people challenging him all over the internet.

I agree with your comments in the Friday Free For All post, DB, about how the show has come back from break on fire. Great shows all week and last night was no exception. My favorite bit was, of course, the extra leg wrestling footage and the challenge to that Fox station’s news team. I laughed really loudly and I’m surprised I didn’t wake my kids up! I also got a kick out of the pumpkin pun and Stephen’s reaction. I enjoyed the interview with Lessig and found what he was saying to be very interesting. I’m pondering it right now. He seemed to be getting annoyed toward the end of the interview though.

The whole week has been stellar from Colmes to the BKAD. I love TCR’s fake fueds and Stephen’s subsequent rants – more leg wrestling please!
Recaptcha: moi generally LOL!

I loved the leg wrestling challenge and I really, really hope there is one, but considering Chaffetz literally is living at work, I’m wondering if he’d have any time to make a reappearance on the show for it. But, I know TCR fans would gobble it up. Anything having to do with Stephen challenging someone to beat him at something always gets the Nation all fired up.
I just can’t help but continue to laugh hysterically at all the Blagojevich hair jokes — they never, ever get old. I’m wondering if between TDS and TCR if there’s a huge cache of hair jokes that they pull from every week. Hehehe…
It was an absolutely fantastic week of shows — the material was fresh, snappy, and beyond hysterical. Stephen seemed rested and refreshed and completely on. It’s like Christmas came all over again.
I have to say, the three week break was definitely worth it!

Oh, the pain of choosing a favorite segment! I had to go with Lessig, because he’s such an icon, and he’s done such great work. I actually thought he did a great job making his points, and it’s clear that Stephen is sympathetic to the message (given his Dangermouse and green screen challenge references).
That said, oh I do love me some Colbert leg wrestling. So much silly fun, this has been a great week :)

A few things…
1, I never thought I could be jealous of a bottle of Sierra Mist, but lo and behold…
2, I wonder how long it will take for someone to take the interview with Lessig and make a dance remix?
3, I found it amusing that in his interview the Congressman admitted to losing two wrestling matches, and then Stephen shows us clips of THREE!
4, Did anyone else notice that Stephen gave the Florida Gators the Colbert Bump? At the very end of the show, he shouted “Go Gators!” and of course, they were victorious :)

I have to say that as a Florida Gator, the Colbert Bump for the Gators was my write-in favorite part of the show. I obviously did not watch the show because I was too busy watching the Gators thrash the Sooners, but as I watched it this morning, it made me absurdly happy. =D

I went to UCF, so by Florida law I have to root for the Gators (because no one except UCF roots for UCF). But once Colbert mentioned the Gators, I suddenly cared. It’s a miracle! xD

YAY! As a UF graduate myself, I have to say I was especially chuffed that Stephen chose the RIGHT team to bump!
