if it means anything, I added you to my actual real list (it’s not just in my brain anymore) of people looking for tickets and when. I’ll do my best to let you know when those days are coming up.
actually, you’d probably better watch pretty closely in the coming weeks, particularly next week. 11 AM ish is best. I won’t be around for a little so I can’t help you look, unfortunately. pretty good and reliable people update the tickets information thread at the colboards though. good luck!

also, only Jan 5 and 7 are up now.

      • bless you Tiger…I will also check the Colboards. I’m willing to wait in the stand-by line, but I’m old and feeble (42) and would love to get an actual ticket for my very first TCR taping ever.

I hope the TCr taping is great. Anyone who gets to see a taping is so lucky. I’m in Monroe Michigan and have no chance of seeing a taping right now. Grrrr. Sorry for the vent.

Hey Ho– I’m in town for the 1st week of March (2009)… HOW ON EARTH do I get tickets? They all seem to be gone? PUH-LEAAAAZE help me! Thanks!

    • Tiger says:

they aren’t necessarily gone, they’re just not available for getting right now. here is what you should do:
      1) watch the tickets page as closely as you can. tickets are usually released around midday on weekdays. if anything comes up for the days you want that’s when it will happen.
      2) the midday of the day you’d like to see the show you should pay extra attention, because sometimes you can reserve tickets through the site same-day like that. it’s not a sure bet though.
      3) otherwise, you should arrive early, like around 2 PM, and try to get in on standby. (if you are that interested.) if you are there at that time you’ll have a very decent chance of getting in!

if you have any questions about what I just wrote reply and I’ll try to clarify! good luck!

Can someone please inform me how much tickets are? I have reserved three tickets for a January taping and it mentioned absolutely nothing about cost.

Do I dare ask? (Okay, I’m going to ask…)

…Are the tickets really free? If not, how much is the cost?

    Thank you!

    • DB says:

Indeed, tickets are free. Enjoy the show, and make sure to come back and tell us about your taping!

Also, welcome to the site! If you’re a Colbert fan, you’re among friends here.

Thank you for your quick reply and response. WOW. That’s amazing, lol. I will bookmark this site and share my experience, lol.

It also mentions that I should be there for 5:15 but no later than 5:30. And then there’s something about a stand-by line that usually begins an hour earlier (sometimes as early as 2pm)

I was thinking of arriving for 4:30!?

    • DB says:

If you want to get close to the front, it’s good to get there by 3:30-4p. You’ll still get a seat, and all the seats are good, if you get there by 4:30p. But you don’t want to get there any later than that. Rarely are regular ticket holders bumped, and in January, I doubt if people will get there really early. Since you’ve got tickets, though, you don’t need to get in the stand by line.

And please, feel free to come back and talk about Stephen anytime! We’re a friendly bunch here!

  7. Vanessa says:

Yeah…they mentioned that they’ll be “holding” my tickets at the door. I guess that I just mention my name as I just confirmed this on the website (http://www.colbertnation.com). I’ll tell my friends so we can head to the studio by 4-4:30pm that day.
