Please pardon the dust

Just a heads up – we’re still working on the new site theme behind the scenes, and we hope to launch on January 1st. However, to get the site to work in the new theme, it means making changes in the old which may make your experience here just a smidge wonky for a few days.

For example, the “align=left” code that we use to make the pictures sit on the left hand of the post with wrapped text, works in the old template but not the new. In the new template, you have to use the “class=alignleft” code. But that doesn’t work in the old template. So the graphic in the Lorelle post earlier today is ugly in the old template (which is what you can see now), but looks fabulous in the new template (which the Completists can see as I mod the theme).

Also, there is an error with the new comments. They work great when the site is viewed in the new template, but they throw a commentform.div error in the old template. You should be able to leave plain comments, just not Reply comments, but if you can’t just shoot me an e-mail and I’ll see if I can tweak it when I get home (db (at@) nofactzone.net).

We’ve also done some shifting of the content in the sidebars, which means some things that were visible before are no longer visible in the old template. Rest assured that they are safe and sound in the new template, just in another location.

Although there’s some aches and pains that are going along with this shift, I feel confident that the new site will serve your Stephen Colbert news needs even better than before, and I’ve incorporated a large amount of your suggestions into the new template. I’ll tell you all about the nifty changes and additions once it’s live!
