SPOILER ALERT: Congressman-Elect Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) to be Better Known

Looks like a Freshman congressman is going to be featured on the “Better Know a District” series. From the Salt Lake Tribune:

Congressman-elect Jason Chaffetz did not say he enjoys cocaine because it’s a fun thing to do. But, hey, who knows what the producers can blend together to make it sound like that.

Chaffetz spent three hours Tuesday in New York taping a segment for television satirist Stephen Colbert that will air sometime after the new year. Colbert’s folks denied a reporter’s request to view the taping, but Chaffetz said it was fun and that Colbert, a faux conservative pundit, is an “exceptionally nice guy.”

“He’s so fun,” Chaffetz said en route back to Washington, noting that he thought his appearance went well. But, “Who knows what they’re going to slice and dice that to look like.”

Chaffetz says he doesn’t think he said anything that crazy, but he says Colbert did try coaxing him in other ways.

“He tried to get me to say some stuff in Spanish that I just wouldn’t say,” Chaffetz said. What was it? “I don’t know exactly.”
