My favorite segments tonight were “Season of Giving” and “Barry & the Stump.” Stephen’s diatribe on the Pinto brought back memories of my first car and how it would shake when I tried to make it go faster than 55 mph. One time, a window fell out when I was driving home from college. Good Times!
I laughed so hard during “Barry & the Stump,” I started crying. It was hilarious when Stephen imitated the Congresswoman, and I lost it during the pole dancing clip.
Here are a few memorable quotes from this episode:
- Car $54 Billion, Where Are You?
- Stephen Colbert is here. Always a good show when that cat shows up.
- An alien, Ms. Streisand? You’re the one who is dressed like Mork from Ork.
- Sasha Fierce.
- So, I let them keep the car, and I hope it rots in hell.
- Baby college? Are there baby frats?

Highlight of the show? Sasha Fierce + head jerking. Hahaha. Now I must stop typing so I can patiently wait for Stephen to appear on Conan.
BTW: iPhone/iTouch keypads are brutal!

hmmmm this was a tough one.
there were perhaps two impressions of females? I’ve been listening to Wigfield lately so perhaps this leaves me doubly amused with high priestess Thea and Raven freshly in my head.
I went with the congresswoman’s segment because she seemed very good-natured! and she wasn’t even on the show, I know!

Where is everybody?! Helloooo…
OK – the pole dance bit killed me. The prank calls were pretty funny too. Nice interview.

Haha! Yes, you’re totally right. The pole dancing bit was hilarious, and another fabulous example of an act that wrote itself (just like the video of the bear eating a copy of IAA(ASCY!) the show received last fall). I love The Word so much though, that I always vote for it. I see a WGA awards in some people’s futures. : )

The Word was really good! I ended up voting for Barry and the Stump because it had me laughing so hard. The pole dancing was a hoot! I also enjoyed the interview with Geoffrey Canada.

As much as I loved the Word, the pole-dancing bit took the cake. And yes, that act really did write itself
