Behind the scenes peek at ‘Monsters Versus Aliens’

Tip of the hat to eirracoes and DB for shooting this my way; Entertainment Tonight (via io9) has a clip of some of the actors in the upcoming Monsters Versus Aliens, including a brief shot of Stephen Colbert doing his voice work as the President.

I don’t think I need to tell you how much I’m looking forward to this movie. All that voice talent (Stephen! Hugh Laurie! Rainn Wilson!) is bound to be successful.

every time they introduced another person, I was sure it would be someone I had never heard of, but no! that is quite the cast!

I was already sold on seeing this movie because, of course, Stephen’s doing one of the voices. But, OMG! Seth Rogan! Reese Witherspoon! Rainn Wilson! I may actually go on opening night, which hardly ever happens. Can’t wait!

I was shocked when I saw that Rainn Wilson is in it. He’s a funny guy too.

I’m a 3D animation fan, so I’d would see this movie no matter who was in it.

I’d go see this movie even if Stephen weren’t in it. Lol.

  6. Seth Rogen AND Stephen?! Well I’m sitting in a big puddle of drool now and it’s kinda gross.

It’s a little silly, but I’m most excited about this being in 3D (like, excited beyond all reason). Maybe because I’ve seen so few 3D movies in my life (a Muppet movie when I was at Disney, lo, these many years ago and The Nightmare Before Christmas earlier this year); they make me feel like a little kid anticipating something new again.

And, of course, that cast has me just thrilled. I think I might have laughed hardest at seeing Hugh Laurie’s behind-the-scenes bit; he must have been eager to get back into some more overtly comic work. The difference between his House persona and, say, Blackadder … wow.

I’m hoping I can see this in 3-D. One of my eyes is legally blind so 3-D movies never look quite right. I’m curious to find out how this animation will look to me since I’m sure they are using the latest technology available.

I am SO EXCITED about this movie!! I would want to see it even if Stephen weren’t voicing the president, but Stephen’s role in the movie makes me want to see it even more.

I can’t remember any longer where I saw it, but I read an interview with someone connected with this movie (the director or producer, or maybe one of the studio guys), and he said that the 3D release is an “option” (so you have to pay more for it, obviously), but that it would also be released in the regular, 2D format. While I certainly hope you’ll be able to see and enjoy it in 3D, they’re leaving more traditional formats in place, too, if for no other reason than that not all theaters are equipped to handle the new 3D technology.

Oh this looks VERY good, and of course Stephen had to voice the prez! ;) Enjoy the Monster Cha-Ching Colbert family!

this is going to be so great, as everyone says. i love computer-generated movies like this, particularly with the talent they have lined up.
i guess it would be like jon stewart attempt at the genre, with an icicle shooting mustache or whatever.
