Happy birthday, Jon Stewart!

Happy day after Thanksgiving, everyone! In honor of the fact that it is not only the day after Thanksgiving, but also Jon Stewart’s birthday, I’m posting one of my favorite of his interviews below, the October 5, 2006 interview with David Rakoff:

It was a close call between that interview and this one with “Al Sharpton” (a.k.a. Stephen Colbert) but, let’s face it, it’s hard to argue with that punch line.

Happy birthday, Jon, and thanks for giving us so many reasons to laugh throughout the year!

That was a great pick, MsI. You were spot on about the punch line (I kept trying to remember what it was while he was talking.)

I’d also forgotten that ill conceived idea called The Seat of Heat… I’m soooo glad they got rid of that one.

It’s so hard to choose sometimes. I obviously wanted to stick to one that featured Jon enjoying himself, but (luckily) there are still a lot of those to choose from, too. This one with Bonnie Hunt was also just delightful; I almost went with it.

The fact that Paul, Jon, and I share a birthday makes me grin.

BTW- I HAVE to share this with you all: Mom got me a Colbert cake! And a Canon EO5. Flickr HBW here I come!

I loved those interviews. They are hilarious! Can’t wait till Colbert’s B-day, because that is my birthday too! It is a double celebration!

haha those are both great interviews.

I love the Sharpton one; Jon makes it by staring at the camera giving his perplexed look while Stephen is giving all the rhetoric. (also, Stephen is grinning a lot!)

well, I hope Jon has a great birthday! :)

LOL! GREAT interview. David Rakoff read along with Stephen at the Symphony Space selected shorts evening I attended and did a marvelous job.

Happy happy happy birthday Jon and Paul!

Jon giggles at many things, but the giggle Rakoff drew from Jon in that interview is probably one of the biggest.

“Gandhi near the end was on the Sunny D.”

“I thought it was the purple stuff.”

Ahhh, I remember those commercials. LOL

Did you see the interview segment with Bonnie Hunt I linked in an earlier comment? Jon literally fell out of his chair laughing during that one; it’s terribly adorable.
