Six Degrees: Odds and ends

Six Degrees of Stephen ColbertI’m not even going to pretend I’ve been keeping up with everything and everyone lately; not only have I been way too swamped for that, you all would know instantly how ludicrous an assertion it was.

Nonetheless, there are a few things I thought I’d drop into a post for you all (because there actually *are* one or two things going on in the world aside from the impending broadcast of A Colbert Christmas); please chime in with comments and/or links if you think of anything else your fellow fans will enjoy reading.

Jon Stewart

  • Remember that gig at Hamilton Jon did a couple of weeks ago? He did a little Q&A beforehand that had some nice quotes; read it here (h/t jennie).
  • The local CBS affiliate covered the performance, too; check it out here.
  • There are several snippets of Jon’s gig at the University of Buffalo available on YouTube; get the links here. (h/t shamskygirl)

Amy Sedaris (Strangers with Candy, etc.)

  • Tip of the hat to Jenny with a Y and Katie at AmySedarisRocks for this one: Amy has a role in the upcoming Dance Flick, the trailer for which is here:

John Hodgman (Resident Expert, The Daily Show)

  • John continues his promotional tour for More Information Than You Require, and I sure hope you’ve been able to catch one of his book signings. If not, you can catch him on the upcoming Best Week Ever.
  • John was also on Conan last night; watch it here (via CC Insider)
  • Oh, and did you know he was musical? Here’s a great vid of him with Jonathan Coulton (and yes, they will eventually record an audiobook for More — please be patient!).

Adam Schlesinger (Composer/Producer, A Colbert Christmas)

  • Okay, so this is related to the special, after all, but that’s not a bad thing. Adam did a brief Q&A about his involvement with the Christmas special here. (h/t tiger)

Rob Corddry (former correspondent, The Daily Show)

Daily Show Correspondents and Writers Galore

  • Finally, remember when we told you about the Paley Center panel a bunch of the Daily Show writers and correspondents were participating in at the beginning of the month? Comedy Central has posted video of it here. Enjoy them after the jump!

LOL! Dance Flick looks hilarious! And I really enjoyed the snippets from the New York Comedy Festival as well.

I live in Germany and occasionally watch me some CNN International. Last week when reporting on reaction to the G-20 meeting, they actually ran footage from The Daily Show, the part where Jon mentioned that the wine cost $20 a bottle. When Jon Stewart keeps protesting that theirs is “only” a comedy show — nobody really listens, do they? :-)

And speaking of living in Germany, how funny that the Recaptcha is: “Heinrich Australia” – weird!
