omfg. I am so excited for this Christmas special, that I just want to shout with glee and/or end this sentence with a million and a half exclamation points.

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =)

Oh, and throwing things into the fake fireplace never gets old. Haha. I crack up every time.

GAH!!! They’re killin’ me with this stuff, I tell ya. I want more than just a couple lines of those songs!

“There’s enough rum in here to blind a pirate.” Hahahahaha.

  3. Tommy says:

Wow, I’m now excited beyond words! Every one of those clips had me cursing that they didn’t show more.

I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say this is going to be the BEST Christmas since the one with baby Jesus and the manger!

You need to use a proxy server to see the vids from CC.

At the right, under ‘Comedy Central Official Sites’, click on the link to the Colboards. On the ‘Colbert Report’ forum, check out the ‘UK not OK’ thread (i believe) for a discussion about this problem and the different servers people use.
Some people like UltraSurf, but there are others as well.
      Good luck.

*Tip of the Hat* to you, madam. (You mean in the Jon Stewart clip, right? That was some A+ squee before he started singing.)

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up 0

      • Dee says:

hahaha, yes, when Jon entered, I started squealing a bit too early…and i’m like…why’s everyone else not shouting?!

I sure hope the Toby Keith song is in jest, not serious.

    • DB says:

I think Toby Keith’s outfit should tell you all you need to know about that song.

      • eirracoes says:

I’m still trying to figure out if Toby Keith is an It-Getter or not… I mean, him being on TCR and the Christmas special suggests that he *might* be, but sometimes I think he doesn’t know that what he’s participating in is in jest. And then there are the things like his “boot up your behind, it’s the American Way” song, which is very un-It-Getter.

If he wasn’t an It-Getter, I still see why he would be invited to be on the show – because Stephen is a reach-across-the-aisle kind of fellow – but Keith himself just seems like he’s taking all this quite seriously.

Perhaps I’m stereotyping him too much?

Ahahah! Anybody else notice the crossed sword and lightsaber on one of the walls?

      I saw that!

Oh Stephen, you wonderful, wonderful nerd.

  8. sleepy says:

In the Jon clip, Stephen sounds like Noblet when he says his line about ghosts. And I haven’t actually seen any of the others yet. When I stop laughing at Jon’s adorable singing, I’ll move on.

  9. Flatpoint Grief Counselor says:

I love Jon’s singing. I will stick my neck out knowing that the Colbert faithful will want to chop it — but I favor Jon’s singing over Stephen’s. What’s wrong with me?

more of Jon singing: Night of Too Many Stars 2008, Elmopalooza (which I can’t find anymore), any others?

I still say Stephen is the better singer, but Jon is a better singer than I initially thought.

      • TruthPower says:

Yeah I never knew Jon could sing so beautifully! Stephen is the best though.

  10. Splendiferous_Zeppelin says:

This is going to be the weirdest, randomest, skewedest Christmas special EVER and I’m going to love it. I’m sure it will become a holiday favorite at my house. The fake applause after the entrance of each guest is hilarious. And “I’ve got a flaming yule log…” And Jon. I don’t think he could be bundled up much more.

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up 0

    • Ann G. says:

Actually, that applause after each guest entrance isn’t fake. Stephen gave us very specific instructions about how he wanted us to applaud at those times. I’m not sure we got it exactly right, but it sounds like they were able to get something useful out of it anyway.

Jon’s singing for this is really very sweet. I remain firmly convinced that his vocal skills are limited, but they made the most of what he could do.
