TiVo Alert: Stephen Colbert to be on ‘Letterman’ November 20th
ByThe Late Night TV Page has posted the upcoming schedule for the Late Show with David Letterman, and it looks like we’re in for a treat. It shows our favorite pundit, comedian, song-and-dance man, and Emmy-deserving entertainer Stephen Colbert in the lineup for Thursday, November 20th. Dare we hope that this will be promotion for A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All? Regardless, I’m sure we’re in for a good time.
In the meantime, enjoy this vintage Colbert and Letterman interview, from the pre-Report days:

I’m going to forget, I know it! I am SO bad at remembering when people I am interested in go on late night programs.

Ah, it was fun to relive the 2005 clip. Loved when Dave asked “what are you doing with this program?” and Stephen says “Changing the world.” He was joking, but yet so right.

I was just wishing that Stephen would make a guest appearance on a talk show. I’m so excited! Although I can’t listen to this video at work, just watching him is so delightful. I love his floppy hair:)
When he was on Letterman to promote “I Am America And So Can You!” I loved his story about his son who asked him “Dad, are you old and weak?” Stephen: “No, I’m young and strong. Has mother been talking?” Haha. Loved it.

Is Stephen able to do this because the show is dark next week? Do we know if they’re taping at all over Thanksgiving week? Is this all already well-known and I’m just way behind the curve? (Certainly wouldn’t be the first time!)

they’re going to be off the week of Thanksgiving. but that’s in two weeks, right? so I’m pretty sure the show will be on next week.

Is it just me, or is it totally awesome and endearing at the same time how he can easily laugh at himself??
Also, my favorite part: “He’s so precocious!”
And I feel terribly out of the loop here as well- I take it that there are no new episodes this week?

There are new episodes starting tonight; it was just a one-night break.
