Six Degrees: Jon Stewart to participate in Kennedy Center’s All-Star Comedy Tribute to George Carlin
ByTonight the Kennedy Center will award the Mark Twain Prize to George Carlin, the late Grammy-winning American stand-up comedian, actor, and author. Jon Stewart joins Richard Belzer, Lewis Black, Margaret Cho, Ben E. King, Denis Leary, Bill Maher, Joan Rivers, Garry Shandling, Jon Stewart, Lily Tomlin, and Ben Stiller by video to remember and celebrate Carlin’s life and humor. Both Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert count Carlin as one of their favorite comedians.
The award was announced a week before Carlin’s death in June 2008, and this will be the first time the Kennedy Center has given the award posthumously. PBS will air the sold-out special at a later date.
Tivo Alert: Tonight’s Daily Show and Colbert Report are both reruns of the 11/6/08 episodes.

RIP, George. :( I wasn’t a fan of his later stuff, but he was one of the first comedians who made me actually think.
In reference to the Tivo alert, I popped over to the Late Night TV Page to see who was on the rest of the week, and was surprised to see Papa Bear on TDS on Thursday! That should be, uh, fun?
