Episode 4144 – R.A.P.S. (Awesome!)

What a great episode! The writers really hit the nail on the head with “Change.” My favorite line was the one about empty, disappointed crackers.

The Threatdown was hysterical. Listening to Stephen talk about poetry was a major win for me, and I loved the interpretive dance and pottery graphics. Cory Booker wants to eat us. HAHAH!!!

The interview with Andrew Young was wonderful. Ambassador Young is such a warm, intelligent man. He’s clearly an it-getter, too.

I saw an ad for the Colbert Christmas special during one of the commercial breaks tonight. I CANNOT WAIT for it to air!

      and traumatizing.
You cannot imagine the amount of therapy I will need to go through just to recover from that picture.
Hahaha :P Just kidding. In reality, Wolf Blitzer in a leotard must be gorgeous.

AGH! November 23 is the last performance date for my musical! And on the night of our last performance days, we ALWAYS have a bonfire… meaning… I have to choose between cast tradition or Colbert Christmas.
Oh my goodness. I never would’ve thought that I would have to make such treacherous decisions!
      /headdesk
      What to do!? :’(
On the bright side… I finally joined Twitter.

To stay on topic, The WORD was my favorite of the night.
“What’s not scary about that name!?”
      “The Not George Bush Part”
      LOL!

I loved Andrew Young’s final comment that the world has become so messed up that they’ve left it to an African-American to solve it. That really made Stephen crack up!

Footnote: I loved all of those Stephen smiles in reaction to the “Alien” clip.

This may have been asked in other parts of the blog… but how come Colbert is shunning UK viewers? Every single clip (not full episodes, just clips) shows a stern graphic and a message imploring us not to send red coats.

    • DB says:

They’ve modified the video codes again. I know that one of the seriously higher ups in the CC new media department is doing their best to get all the rights to the vids for the UK viewers, but for now, everyone from outside the US who is not viewing vids from the Comedy Network or FXUK are out of luck. :(

      • Thanks for that explanation, DB. I was just about to ask the same question.

I am so annoyed. I adore watching the old videos! It’s the only place I can see them all. Last time I checked FX UK they didn’t have much. :(

I really hope the powers that be sort this out. :(

Yeah, i’ve just realised that too :-( hope dailyshow.com doesn’t start doing that! I thought it was just full episodes that we couldn’t see? this sucks.

Oh :-( I can’t find a torrent for this show yet, damn! The Daily show was soooooooooo good, so Its killing me that I can’t watch the report yet, i’m so impatient lol guess i’ll just watch the election show again….”MAINSTREAM!”

I didn’t realize England was blocked – I watch it in Italy and assumed only Canada had the block. Bummer.

  9. It was nice to see someone call our new hope an American. He’s not really ‘black’ but close. He is an African-American because his father is at least from Africa. People of color who have been on this continent for several generations now are in fact – Americans. I rated the WORD highest this time.

    buddy can U paradigm?

Man…both TDS and TCR were crazy-good tonight. Both of them are going on my VCR “Best of” tape. Wolf Blitzer dancing – AHHH.

The WORD was outstanding. Looks like Stephen will have plenty of anti-Obama fodder to play with, he was so gleeful!

  12. Lucy says:

The show was great as usual, particularly the Word, the Threatdown (and Stephen’s character break during the “Alien” clip), the Andrew Young interview and the Gorlock segment at the end. So basically everything. :)

I also have to mention the cookie moment on TDS: “I’ll eat it– Karl Rove can’t hurt me anymore.” LOL!

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up 0

    • Michele says:

LOL! I loved that! And then, “Karl Rove buys s****y cookies!”. Both TDS and TCR were very good last night. I don’t see either of them having a problem coming up with material when the next administration finally takes over. Wow! It felt really good to just say “when the next administration takes over.”

My favorite part of TCR was the Word. It was just so good! And the Threatdown was hilarious! I also enjoyed the interview with Andrew Young and found his last comment as funny as Stephen did.
