I’ve got a whole mailbox full of notes and tidbits about Stephen, so here’s a barrage of Stephen Colbert all over the blogosphere and mainstream media (and a few other goodies as well)!

• ‘Truthiness’ Could Swing Stephen Colbert Into Marvel White House – Here’s an excerpt from the Wired.com interview with Joe Quesada and Mark Waid of Marvel (And a reminder – the Spider man variant Cover #152 hits the store on October 15th!):

  Wired.com: Do you wish he’d run for president in our more boring universe?

  Waid: Dear God, yes, if only because it would rock to have Jon Stewart as the veep.

  Quesada: Stephen tried to run for president in our boring universe, but unfortunately his campaign was stymied by the powers that be. Not so in the Marvel Universe, where his campaign is in full swing and gaining momentum, once again proving that we would all rather be living in the Marvel Universe than the real one.

  Wired.com: Why Spidey? Is it because he’s got the best sense of humor in the Marvel Universe?

• The Enduring Shame Of Stephen Colbert Comes Home To Roost – The Grumpy Forester: “Not only is Jr. alive, but he has been hanging out a few miles west of me on the Deschutes River, presumably killing Republican ducks and Limbaugh-loving fish as he angrily lashes out against the wayward father who abandoned him when the bright lights and big city came calling. The shame that Colbert should – but probably can’t – feel (he is a committed wingnut, after all) is right out there, for all the world to see! AvA is WristSTRONG

Here’s a story from Zoner Smashley about WristSTRONGing the members of Angels & Airwaves:

I also had the luck of meeting both Matt Wachter and Tom DeLong (of Blink-182 fame more so than AvA) as well. And their Tour Manager, but I only had so many WristSTRONG bracelets… I explained WristSTRONG and told them that I wanted to pass along a bracelet to each of them, and they were more than happy to wear them. Matt thanked me profusely and hugged me as well. While I was explaining things to Matt, Tour Manager Chris jumps in and asks if “that’s the guy that Tom likes” and Matt confirms that they all love the Report but due to touring, don’t get to watch it that often. I mentioned my iTunes downloads…Chris also mentioned that David was wearing one of the bracelets and they had been talking about it the past couple of days.

So, I then came to Tom and explained WristSTRONG to him as well, he was very excited and before I had finished the “I need to make you WristSTRONG now” speech I had, the asked where his bracelet was. Thankfully, I was wearing a couple just in case I met them! And so I made Tom WristSTRONG as well. I was pretty excited. 3/4 the band.

I managed to get a front row spot up at the barricade and took pictures of the guys and their WristSTRONG bracelets on stage.
