Episode 4124 – R.A.P.S. (Awesome!)

By Jenny with a Y on October 2nd, 2008 ·

This was another great episode of The Colbert Report! The bit about Campbell’s soup was very funny. Liquid assets. Hahaha! “Future Perfect” was right on target, and the voting segment was hilarious. It was good to see Barry Julien play the role of “Barry.” I love it when TCR writers make appearances on the show.

Please feel free to share your thoughts about this episode in the comments. You may also wish to add a write-in vote for something not included in the poll.

the young voters thing was just hilarious!! you have to love the dorky 90s-style kids talking about…voting. I think that is a euphemism I could adopt!

as a first time 18-yr-old voter I felt empowered to decide to shred my absentee ballot when it arrives…

My First Time was to Gore…and we all know how that turned out. I feel so used!

I feel even more used… I voted for Clinton my first time – when he ran against Bush.

May I just say how much I enjoyed Dave Levin’s tie. I’m a sucker for happy faces.

I was just DYING at the Voting segment!!! Definately very 90sish I half expected Stephen to say something about that.

Noted – the tie was groovy.

our RAPS poll today confirms that we don’t always just vote for a segment with lots of Stephen face time (which are most of them)…a segment where he barely shows up can be popular when it is sufficiently hilarious. just an observation.

After The Word, I was sure that would be the best segment for a long time … but then Young Voters was just too spot on.

These guys are writing like Emmy Winners!! I think they’ve been on fire since they got back from L.A.

I forgot to add how much I loved that they showed the registration deadlines for all 50 states at the end of the voters abstinence segment. Gotta love these subversives.

Anyone else catch the gay baby reference first mentioned in Entertainment Weekly? I love it when he slips in jokes from other venues (magazines articles, graduation speeches, etc.) because then we get a chance to hear him actually say it and not just read about it:)

Yesterday I voted for soup, now I have regrets – I should have waited. Now I support the voter abstinence segment! ;)

“I always wanted my first time to be special. Instead I just gave it away to Michael Dukakis.” – Barry

I still can’t get over that segment.

The voting segment won my vote as well. The Word was almost going to win, then the voter they picked on had my name!! Oh.My.God. Had to vote for “myself” there! ;)

great show as always. its so easy to see why they won an Emmy!

WOOT!
