Episode 4120 – R.A.P.S. (Awesome!)

There were a lot of things to love about this episode: Stephen suspending The Colbert Report and drinking beer in the dark, his call to The Suze Orman Show, the Alpha Dog of the Week segment, and the interview with Dr. Cornel West. The toss with Jon Stewart was great, too. I’m so proud of TDS and TCR for their Emmy wins!
Thank goodness Stephen had Jimmy suspend the suspension his show. I cannot imagine life without TCR.

the toss was excellent but after so many great tosses lately, I’m like “psh, another fabulous toss, big deal…”
however, I do believe Dr Cornel West was an awesome guest! Stephen did an admirable job of keeping up but West really drove the interview imo. he had all the answers and then some, and really fast, unlike most guests who are like “uh, what did that man just say? I think I should chuckle…” so anyway, my vote went to Cornel West.

agreed. Dr. Cornel West just has such an outgoing and warm personality and can really keep a conversation going. I enjoyed the interview the most for this particular episode.

Before I comment on tonight’s episode, I’d like to mention that I thought I was at the wrong site. The new layout looks great! Nice work guys ;) Now to begin my commentary: “The bling-bling” conversation had me laughing to tears. You’re absolutely right, mrtigger. Dr. Cornel West definitely knows how to keep a conversation going. He played along very well.

I was suprised during the toss that Jon Stewart only pulled out 1 Emmy since he has 6 don’t you think that it would’ve been funnier to try up the stakes in the amount of Emmy’s? Maybe he was laughing to hard to get more out, since I did notice the character break at that point.

I was a little lost with Dr. Cornel West as I believe Stephen was by the end of the interview. Haha. When Stephen asked Dr. Cornel West why he criticized Obama for abandoning his race, he didn’t seem to really answer the question, but I realize an interview with Stephen isn’t a typical interview:) Crazy, confusing but fun interview! However, my vote went to Stephen drinking in the dark. That was just sexy.

I agree about the confusing! Stephen’s response of something like “I’m not sure I follow” was a perfect way to be like “huh?” but still not be caught in the headlights of Dr West’s truth.

I missed the toss because I had to deal with some ants – but my wife mentioned that it had to do with butt munching, if I heard her correctly. I voted for Dr. Cornel West – he’s always got a smooth dialogue with Stephen. They both enjoy doing the wordplay and seem to egg each other on. Makes for great watching.

I went with the Suze Orman bit mostly because me and my roomie and our friends have been addicted to CNN lately and we are all convinced she is insane… However, the entire episode was awesome!

My favorite part was when Stephen said it turns out you can’t get much gold if you melt down an Emmy, and then he pulled out the melted one. Haha!

I say the toss, if only because I like the way Stephen lights up when he breaks Jon. IT’S SHALLOW, I KNOW. Also, his “MUNCH MUNCH MUNCH” genuinely made me laugh.

Definitely the Toss. The interview with Cornel West seemed good but then toward the end it got kind of “huh”? Like Stephen said that analogy about the arsonist and Cornel said “he wasn’t the arsonist, he started the fire!” Um…
I have a question, are there not going to be episode recaps any more?

Was a super hard choice, but I went with Alpha Dog cuz they way he nailed Bennett had me howling!!!
