2008 Emmy Coverage – The Writers’ Montage and Acceptance Speech
ByWell, ask and you shall receive… or you finally just figure out how to do it yourself.
Here’s the long awaited (at least 12 hours!) video of the writers’ montage followed by the grand gathering on the stage by the Emmy Award Winning writing team from The Colbert Report.
I have to admit, I knew who won and I still got all excited and was nearly in tears by the end of the whole thing.
It’s not as high quality as I wanted… but it took forever to upload and I’ll try again later. This will do, I assume, for now. And sorry, there’s nothing I can do about the blond on the right… short of dubbing over her voice and actually pronouncing the name of the show correctly.
EDIT:
Thanks to Truth over at ColbertPics and Jennie for these caps of the end of the ‘Colbert Report’ nomination segment, after the break.

EDIT II:
And thanks to Jennie for the final shot (click for larger version).

TCR’s montage was so cute, and I loved seeing Stephen in his boxers! If anyone can get a screenshot, it would be much appreciated Eye Candy. :)
And because it can’t be said nearly enough, congratulations to Stephen and all the writers for a much-deserved win!
Also, special thanks to everyone at NFZ for their tireless coverage of last night’s Emmys!

I loved the montage. Man I can’t wait for Christmas. I like Stephen in boxers.
It looks like Stephen was nearly in tears too. I was full of energy last night. I’m surprised how quickly I fell asleep.

Hayden Panettiere is *not* and it-getter.
Also, can I be Alison Silverman in the next life? You think that’s possible?

I just want her hair. I’ve wanted naturally curly hair my whole life.

Looks like he shaved/waxed the hair off his chest [not that I was staring or anything] ;)

I misread the caption that said “click for larger version.” the “cl” merged into a single letter.
Oh, and thank you so much for those crystal clear caps!

haha, this breaks my heart. i’m a major Heroes fan as well and it’s an extraordinary cognitive dissonance to see Hayden Panettiere mispronounce the title of our favorite show here. ultimately, i guess the Hero in me wins out over the Heroes fan in me.

I didn’t notice it last night, but I really like the orchestra’s rendition of the theme music. They kind of make it sound like a fight song.

My husband started laughing hysterically at the theme music when it came on. It was quite amusing.

Yay! Definitely the winner of the writers’ montage, too!
Last year, although the Colbert montage was good, nothing topped that from Bill Maher’s team!

I love the fact that they used the set for the Christmas special. Such teasing. :)
Still, congratulations!!!! I’m still so excited about their well deserved win!

Oh my gosh, so amazing. Just fantastic. Thanks so much for putting this up here; I couldn’t catch it live and I was eagerly awaiting it. Such a sweet speech; such a sweet guy. Maybe next year we can get an acceptance speech in-character for Best Individual Performance??? *crosses fingers* Once again, thanks so much to NFZ for their exemplary coverage!

Great coverage (at *all* levels), DB and NFZ. Thanks.
Larger, clearer screen caps are always good.
The part where Farmer Colbert fires the shotgun and all the writers scurry away makes me laugh each time I watch it…of course, as Colbert comes down the stairs the laughter fades… I salute your shorts, sir! =D
And congratulations to everyone, especially Allison Silverman…is this her first writing Emmy?

so just to sum up for the comedy/variety show category:
Writing – TCR
Overall Show – TDS
Individual Performance – Don Rickles
Do I have that right?
