Apres-ski boots… they were hot stuff at the US slopes 25 years ago. Basically lined Wellington boots with faux fur over them.
I never understood the attraction myself.

I…ummm…don’t really like them?
he looks so cranky and I don’t even think the lighting is that flattering. it makes me look unusually old and gray.

He looks angry with the eyebrows. And those boots do really looked stupid. What was it about them that people liked? Even if it makes him look old and grey, he still looks yummy.

OT, but has anyone heard that the Mark Twain Society wants the Presidential candidates to have a debate in Hannibal, Missouri, with Colbert moderating? His people have supplied dates when Colbert would be available.
That would be both yummy, and cool.

I did hear about this and I figure DB hasn’t posted it since it’s not confirmed, but that would be a milestone if it actually took place! In fact, I think I would have to make a special trip to Hannibal! That would be one for the history books (both the traditional and Jon’s).
