I’ll be in row C, fingers crossed he won’t have to cancel this time, it sounds like he’ll be reading an entire story. Selected Shorts is usually broadcast on the NPR radio later on as well.

I can only hope that when I finally move to NYC they’ll still be doing cool stuff like this. That’s only in a few years, so they should be, but I still have my fingers crossed.
Because nothing, and I mean nothing happens in this little podunk town of mine. EVER.

Sorry to go OT, but I hear you on that one. I live in a podunk town and I just moved back to it after going to college in a city for the past two years. I’ve been back for four months and I remember why I left! I’m moving to Boston in two years for grad school, so I’ll be a (four-hour) stone’s throw away from things like this. If I don’t attend a taping before then, I certainly will when I move up there!

haha I definitely hear ya. I live 15 hours away from NY right now, but if all goes as planned I’ll be transferring to a school up there. *fingers crossed*

Stephen Colbert has become an expensive/time consuming hobby…I’ll follow him anywhere (in Manhattan) though.

I was just thinking recently that Stephen would be an excellent reader for Selected Shorts, and wondering if there was any chance he’d ever do one. Score! (and… “I called it! whoo!”) Aasif Mandvi did a great job w/ his story a few weeks ago. (Also, David Rakoff has been on several times and is always hilarious!) I’ll be looking forward to listening to the podcast sometime in future weeks.

Just a couple of comments about the featured video on the right: Crying (yay! I can see them again =D)
1. I remember this segment, but it’s strange how that style of crying now screams to me, ‘Chuck Noblet/Strangers with Candy’.
Colbert Report Stephen crying (to my mind, anyway) is different…more snivelly; more trying to hold it in/back, but failing.
2. Geez, I really miss Bobby …sniffle… :(
