    YAY!!

I’m going to the 9/23 taping and now, thanks to NFZ, I’m going to the Xmas preview too! I’ll report back after the event!

PS I love the two stockings on the mantle–Bwah!

PSS “Live and in person”–as opposed to someone’s corpse in person?

Cursed, cursed! I was just in NY in early September for a taping. Well, you can’t control these things, but I’m thinking about moving back East.

So I guess Stephen is filming these segments right after his regular show on those evenings? He’s got his work cut out for him! I can’t wait to find out the exact content of this special.

I look forward to the taping reports!

I’m confused, is it a screening of a finished video or a taping for the video?

Also, when I clicked to confirm the reservation it took me to the general CC page and didn’t say my reservation was confirmed?

    UM HELLO 9/17 SCREENING.

I never thought I would go to a thing like this. But whatever. Everyone experiments in college!

And I’ll even be on the east coast next week, just trapped underneath a pile of boxes with no ability to escape to NYC :(

Have fun for those who get to go!

Someone please post the results of the 6 month rule e-mail. I’m also going to the regular 9/23 taping and would love to get tickets for the Christmas special for that night.

I’ve also e-mailed the lovely audience people at TCR to ask about the 6-month rule. I snagged tickets to the 9/18 screening, but I also have tickets to a taping in November, and I don’t want to get turned away from that. If I hear back from them, I’ll post the info here.

  12. viewdrix says:

The confirmation e-mail for the Christmas screening tickets includes the six months rule. I’ve sent them an e-mail hoping to make 100% sure I can’t see both 9/23 tapings, and asked about the possibility of canceling my regular tickets for the Christmas special if I have to.

So is this going to be at his studio? I wish I could go…then again I wish I could go to any taping or event, but they all take placce so far away, plus ‘m not old enough =(

This whole Christmas special thing is very mysterious. I’m wondering if this has an Emmy tie to it. I know it would be too late for it to affect this year, but Stephen has been beaten by the great American songbook and musicals special for two years. Once he said on Fresh Air that he should do a musical special with, and I quote, “Stephen Colbert and Friends.”

    • Tonks says:

hey, i wasn’t old enough and they let me go. but I suppose it was because I sent him something. anyway, they’re usually happy to bend the rules for special occasions!

On the other hand, there was that episode of The Daily Show a while back where Jon mocked some parents at the beginning for trying to bring their young teenagers to the show, finding out they were too young, and then sending them to wander New York alone while they went in for the taping.

As for me, it seems my decision’s made up anyway. After looking back at the confirmation for the regular 9/23 taping, I realized it asks the person whose name appears on the tickets to be present, but my Dad, who signed us up, had to back out a while ago. I guess the Christmas Special’s my only chance now.

Hey, I just got an e-mail from the audience department saying the 6-month rule “does not apply” for the Christmas special screenings. Woo hoo!

Now I just have to make sure I can leave work early to get there on time…

YAY! this is 2 people who have e-mailed and said the 6 month rule does not apply. i have tickets to a taping this monday of his regular show, and also have tickets for wednesday. so i am glad that the 6-month rules does not apply. i thought the 6-month rule applied for regular shows, and this is a screening which is different right?

it also said “Everyone attending will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement and appearance release. ” which means that we can’t discuss post-screenings on here!!! sadness :-(
