This might become an annual story! Last August, our young staffer Jacob shared his photos of the day he got to meet Stephen at the Colbert Report studio. Now the Richmond Register reports that 11-year-old William White, also an It-Getter, has been granted his own wish to meet Stephen.
Local child’s ‘wish’ comes true
By Ronica Shannon, Register News WriterClark-Moores Middle School student William White, 11, was given the chance to list two wishes. His number one wish was to meet Stephen Colbert from “The Colbert Report” on Comedy Central, then meet the members of legendary rock band Led Zeppelin.
His mother, Jennifer White, was excited that his first wish came true, because the second wish was almost “impossible,” she said.
. . .
“We thought it was unlikely that this wish would be granted,” Jennifer said. “Then we found out that [Eastern Kentucky University’s Chi Omega sorority] was sponsoring his wish. They (the sorority) work really, really hard and do great things. (William) was so excited that his first choice was going to come true.”
Stephen Colbert is William’s favorite actor.
“I watch ‘The Colbert Report’ whenever I can,” he said. “It’s one of my favorite shows, and he’s a really great guy. He’s funny in person and on TV.”
William was grateful for the sorority’s work to make his wish come true.
“I’ve very glad, because meeting Stephen Colbert is something you don’t do every day,” he said.
Congratulations, William, and thanks to everyone who helps make these wishes come true.
Richmond, Kentucky! God bless Stephen for granting the wish of this sick child.
(And to NFZ’s Senior Junior Reporter) Hi Jacob! How are you doing? Do you like school this year? :)

They should form a club!!
I am so sending this to the Make a Wish woman that told Jacob on the radio that she doubted any other kid would want to meet Stephen Colbert.
HA!
Congrats, William – I know you had a good time. :)
And to fellow Wish Mom, Jennifer – my kid’s second wish was his own cheetah. I was very grateful to The Colbert Report for granting the wish because, frankly, I was terrified they’d actually come up with the cheetah.

that is absolutely wonderful! I love hearing stories about this. One of my favorite things about Stephen is that he really gives a lot back.

Here, here! I love that Stephen gives back in very personal ways….such as inviting you to his studio to personally thank you for your portrait of him!
