Klassic Kolbert: Episode 2110 (8/24/2006)

Episode 2110

Whoops, put 11:30a instead of 11:30p on this, so a few of you may have gottten a sneak peek of this.

This week, putting the Klassic Kolbert posts together has been a lot of fun, because as we mentioned yesterday, it looks like someone behind the scenes is slowly, but surely, putting up every single bit of every single episode onto the Comedy Central site. I’m able to dig deeper into the vaults than ever before!

I love the “Crumbelievable” callback in the intro. And as a big fan of the show “30 Days”, the parody of the show featuring ‘Colbert Report’ head writer Tom Purcell, always cracked me up. (That’s a very elaborate callback to yet another sketch, the Milk On Notice/ On Notice Board Generator.)

That Janna Levin interview is one of my all time faves. I was only so-so on the book when I got around to reading it, but *she’s* fabulous.

(Of course, that got me thinking about what my other interview favorites would be. Anderson Cooper gets a mention, as do Dermot Mulroney, Tim Robbins, Neil de Grasse Tyson, probably Doris Kearns Goodwin, Eleanor Holmes Norton …)

LMFAO!!! I love 30 Days as well and that was just fantastic! I can’t wait to go back in time and watch some of the other great videos from ’06 I haven’t seen yet. Thanks for posting this particular episode.

This was a fantastic episode! Good pick, DB.

I loved the segment about the peaches. I’ve driven by the peach water tower in Gaffney, SC quite a few times when I’ve taken roadtrips from GA to VA.

    Interesting interview, too!
