Speaking of Jon, he was interviewed by Matt Lauer for The Today Show last week. It was a great interview and we know he has fans here; sorry that things got a little too busy for us to keep up with and we didn’t get it posted right away. I’m embedding a longer version of the interview than what appeared on Today, but I’m sure the broadcast version is available at MSNBC, if you’re interested in that one.

I’ll just add: The Daily Show has really been on a tear lately, and I give them major kudos for their hard work. The RNC Palin coverage and the issue of a woman’s right to … what’s the word? It’s like, where you have options … ? Anyhow, they were fabulous segments. Thanks, gang!

(Tip of the hat to shamskygirl on Jon’s appearance and to Lisa M. for the reminder on the Today Show clip!)

    nice!
there’s more college students to be jealous of! at least the people I know who go there are all people I like…so I wouldn’t feel good about beaming hatred up that way!

Is it me or there is an undertone that Jon is stepping down?

    • I didn’t get that feeling from the interview . . . but his contract is good through 2010, so I wouldn’t be worried about it. ^.^

I read that 2010 is also the year that David Letterman is stepping down from CBS and thus that slot will be open, but I just don’t see Jon moving over there since he would have to give up significant creative freedom to host a network show. Plus, the late night show would not have that political edge.

Plus he always complains about doing interviews, and he used to complain even more years ago, when the typical guest was an actor or musician with something to promote. I can’t imagine him doing that for an hour every night.

Thanks NFZ for the heads up! I’m an alum and signed up for super-special alumni tickets. Which does not, as far as I know, involve meeting Jon, but hey.

The TDS team LIVES for this stuff. Jon and the crew have definitely broken out the big guns when it comes to handing the hypocrites their own toochises. I smell another Peabody ;)

And as far as the contract thing… to me, the fact that it’s up in 2010 just means that’s the year Comedy Central will be once again upping his salary to keep up with how much he and his team deserve for delivering the political catharsis we all crave.

TDS has been on fire this week! The whole airport bathroom thing was fantastic.

“Ahhh, it feels so good to be a Republican.” Hahahaha!
