Hey, Zoners, wasn’t this an amazing episode? There were a lot of great moments in tonight’s show, but I particularly liked the Atlanta airport segment and Stephen’s reaction to Rudy Giuliani’s convention speech. I also thought all of the RNC coverage was just perfect. What did you think?

“ahahahaha” even though it was fake laughter, his smile always makes me oh so happy inside ;)… oh how he laughed and smiled and laughed and smiled some more in almost every segment, and throughout the whole week as well, oh it just makes me giddy *sigh*…

I loved the hysterical laughter so much. That was hilarious. And then to top it off with, “But on a serious note: 9/11.” ahahah!
And then I loved the ending when he just dropped the cinnabon and ran off. lol.

I could not have been happier with Stephen’s addressing Palin’s role in the “Bridge to Nowhere” scheme last night. Pointing out that her saying “no thanks” happened only after she had eagerly accepted the money, then realized that it was a political outrage capable even of knocking the American public out of its usual apathy — that’s what real journalists are supposed to be doing, and most of them aren’t. For about the millionth time this week, all I can say is, “Thank goodness for Jon and Stephen.”
And Stephen’s RNC coverage in general had me in hysterics. “When it comes to what a woman should do with their bodies, no one knows better than Republicans.” Bwah!
My other favorite part of the show has been mentioned here already: the Giuliani coverage. “Hahahahaha!! His life exemplifies the American dream … Ahhh-hahahahahahaha!!! [breathe] He came from nothing and now he’s thisclose to being the first black President — hahahahahaha!! Ohhhhh. Ha-ha … ha … ha … [beat] … But seriously, folks, 9/11.” That was a thing of beauty.

Oh yes, thank goodness for Jon and Stephen. They helped me to survive this week…and the last 8 years for that matter.
I tuned into McCain’s speech last night and thought, with that backdrop, McCain’s just begging for another greenscreen challenge. I’d like to put clips of his prior speeches (and Palin’s as well) in the background to juxtaposition with his current rhetoric – I’m sorry, I’ll stop getting off topic now.

For the grammar fans out there, it’s too late for me to correct, but I guess “juxtapose” would have been the correct form of the word.

I don’t know why but I think my favorite part of the episode was when Stephen was talking about Adam Brinkley making such a big difference from his dorm room, and Adam told him that he actually lived at his Mom’s house, and Stephen just started busting up laughing…so cute! Maybe it was just me, but I was kind of hoping that Stephen would reach across the desk and slap that kid across the face. Not hard, but just enough :)
