Stephen Colbert campaign for President marches on in the Marvel universe

By DB on August 25th, 2008 ·

Thanks to eagle-eyed readers bdbdbd and Norman M for bringing us the latest in the Marvel Universe elections. According to bdbdbd:

It’s Wednesday, or new comics day. As you’re well aware, Stephen Colbert is still running for President in the Marvel Comics Universe and has-in one way or another-been depicted in a Marvel comic every week for the last few months.

Well this week he was shown in their big summer crossover “event” comic “Secret Invasion (#5 of 8). Stephen is shown on page 5 (with a Colbert for President sign on 6) speaking on behalf of the invading shape shifting Skrull alien race. Numerous celebrities are shown (Obama, McCain, Oprah, Paris Hilton) and, just to put minds at ease, it doesn’t /mean/ he’s an alien since cartoon characters and known non-aliens are also shown speaking.

And Norman M. furnished us a pic of the comic (click for larger version).

Yeah, no way Colbert’s a Skrull. It’s obviously a CGI recreation. And if Colbert is a skrull, I’m sure the real Stephen is currently leading the rebellion among the real Celebrities that were skrulled. Never put Stephen in a Alien prison… no cell can hold the truth!

D#%m straight! The only reason Colbert can do what he does is his knowledge of the difference between reality and appearances, no matter how he may pretend otherwise. That’s why Stephen still has his soul, even while playing Bill O’Reilly. :) He was the first to alert us about Truthiness masquerading as Truth, *years* before the Skrulls initiated their invasion.

See with your eyes, read with your heart, know with the grace of the Spirit.

Stephen ain’t no Skrull. If anything, he’s leading the revolution against those green-skinned scumbags.
