A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift Of All

Thanks to Zoner Amanda for finding this artwork for the announced Colbert Report special – A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift Of All. According to TVShowsonDVD.com, this could be subject to change. But it still puts me in the mood for eggnog and a saucy Christmas ballad.

I’m not sure I’m really feeling this DVD…

I’m inclined to agree….

From our previous post, it’s looking to be focused on musical guests and numbers. That alone is a huge selling point for me.

Stephen in a cardigan = priceless.
Flashback to the Christmas segment from TDS, where Stephen was wearing a cardigan there, too.

I agree! My first thought was ‘damn, he looks good in that cardigan…’ I love the matching socks haha.

It sounds cool, I’m excited for this DVD.

how is he not in a suit!? he would look so pleasantly out of place if he was!

I really like how the cover has the cover in it, because that’s such a fun mind-boggler!

Good call on Perry Como! He’s got that image down to a tee (or T?). However, Stephen is far sexier in a cardigan:)

If you want a shock, listen to Perry Como’s speaking voice and then his singing voice (YouTube has a lot of clips from his 1950s television show). You wouldn’t believe it came from the same person!

With a pipe like that he’s got to sing White Christmas…I’m sure his would rendition would be as smooth as Bing Crosby’s.

The cardigan makes him look like Mister Rogers. And I love that the stockings say “Stephen” and “Colbert.”

Recaptcha: good simple

I like the stockings too. It looks like his clothes still have the anti-theft devices on them. That’s too funny!

Sorry for taking so long to chime in on this, but I was at the July 31st taping (Go, Buzz!) and there were signs up all along the street in front of the studio stating No Parking for the week because the Colbert Report was shooting. While I waited on line, someone came out and hung new signs with dates through the end of following week. Once we were all inside, Mark (adorable, sweet, incredibly patient audience-wrangler Mark) had to stall for time while the show got tweaked after rehearsal so, among other things, he asked if anyone had any questions. I asked what the show was taping out on the street and he replied with something vague about “a special”. I got very excited and mouthed, “A Christmas special?!”, and he paused for a second before doing the whole ‘can’t confirm, can’t deny, can’t give details” thing. I had to try very hard not to squeal.

I also won a Colbert Report tee-shirt for the friend I was with by naming 5 things on the set (geeked out and proud).

when I was there the week before you they also had the outside of the building blocked off for the whole weekend, with the same signage.
I feel like the phrase “Christmas special” might have been uttered at some time…but like it was a bit of an overwhelming experience so I am not positively sure…
