It’s convenient having two sites with the same birthday. WordsWithGrace over at Colbert University has whipped up a new course in celebration of their one year birthday – MUS 202: The Colbert Report: The Musical (aka Stephen Sings) . Take a trip over there today and enjoy a full course of musical magic, courtesy of Stephen Colbert.
And here’s one of my favorite singing segments on The Colbert Report, which is listed in the Colbert U course.

On a related note, any idea why Stephen’s mini-duet with Caroline Cheeks-Kilpatrick has been edited out of the Comedy Central video of her BKAD? (From Nov. 30 2005, not March 30 2006 as it says there.) They sung a bit of the Mahogany theme, but the clip has them going straight from discussing the movie to the Motown thing.
It made me sad. And confused. I mean, it’s in your episode guide, I found more than a few sites mentioning it (one even with a complete transcript), and heck, I have the snippet of audio downloaded and in my ‘Random stuff’ playlist.

That is a mystery, bowl! Especially since Comedy Central has been good enough to bring all the BKADs back into the archive — some had been unavailable for a long time.
If you ever notice that they restore it, be sure to let us know — we’d love to add that to “Stephen Sings!” (I wonder if they have a time limit for clips and had to cut something? That one is 6:43, which is rather long. But what a choice to cut!)
