Here’s more fun and excitement from some of the people close to Stephen Colbert.
John Oliver
Here’s a couple of really cute videos featuring ‘Daily Show’ correspondent John Oliver and his participation in Comedian Football.
Amy Sedaris
- For those in the Baltimore, MD, Washington D.C. or Harrisburg area, you should definitely snag some tickets for the Weinberg Center for the Arts show featuring Amy Sedaris on November 7th at 8p. Tickets are $27 and go on sale to members and subscribers tomorrow, and to the general publick on August 15th. (h/t AmySedarisRocks)
- Amy will be in Nickolodeon’s “Gym Teacher” (directed by Paul Dinello) on September 5th. (anotehr h/t to AmySedarisRocks)
Peter Grosz (Writer, TCR)
- The Pitch (Kansas City) features a really great article about how Peter Grosz (and his improv buddy, T.J. Jagodowski) became two of the most famous burger spokesmen ever.
Mark Malkoff (TCR audience coordinator)
- Mark was featured on the This Show Again podcast this week. He talks about Ikea and Starbucks. And apparently, Wall-E is kid crack, which is always exciting.
- Mark was also quoted recently in the New York Times as being a bit of an authority on Starbucks: “Mark Malkoff, a comedian who visited all 171 Starbucks outlets then in Manhattan in a 24-hour period for a short film last summer, observed in an interview: “There were five stores open 24 hours a day — that’s just so a New Yorker can wake up at 3 or 4 a.m. and say, ‘I need my fix,’ and they can go to Starbucks.”"
Mark is awesome. He’s a really nice guy.
I seriously can’t wait for “Gym Teacher.”

They filmed “Gym Teacher” at my school back in January. Half the hallways and one gym were basically closed off during the 3-4 weeks they were here. I actually saw Paul Dinello once while they were filming in the hallway. :3

Thanks for posting about Amy at the Weinberg! :) I might bug you to post it again later this summer when tickets go on sale to everyone. I pestered the Weinberg to book her, so I really, really want to see them sell a lot of tickets so they don’t think they made a mistake. My mom’s a member, so we’re getting tickets in 2 hours (at 10:30 this morning). Yay!

Andy Zaltzman, fitting a sweatband around that red hair. That might be the funniest thing I’ve seen all weekend.
