This looks like it could be an interesting segment. Daniel Etsy, a Yale professor and environmental law specialist is due to appear on the show tomorrow evening. From MyRecordJournal.com:
Cheshire’s green guru helps Obama lead energy wave

Amid the national worry of rising petroleum prices, Daniel Esty sees a cloud with a silver, or perhaps, green lining: the snowballing sustainability movement that, he says, benefits business while protecting the environment.
Esty, an attorney, has been talking about the environment for over 20 years, but finds himself in demand today more than ever, as presidential candidates propose green solutions, more Americans buy hybrid cars and mega-corporations like Shell and BP promote sustainable energy.
On Monday, the Cheshire resident will appear on “The Colbert Report,” likely to be harangued by the confrontational faux news anchor Stephen Colbert.
As head of Yale’s Center for Environmental Law and Policy and the school’s Center for Business and the Environment, Esty has focused on sustainability as the function of business and government. In his 2006 book, “Green to Gold,” Esty and co-author Andrew S. Winston state that businesses can spend less and earn more by taking advantage of the “green wave.” Esty’s ideas are now trickling into the presidential debate as Esty advises the Barack Obama campaign with a group of 500 environmental experts.

This should be good.

wow, that guy is really good! I like everything in that article, he seems really smart. I agree the government needs to be involved (with caution) because of the public good quality of the environment…tragedy of the commons, you know? his optimism makes me feel good though!
