Former White House Press Secretary Tony Snow succumbed to cancer this morning at the young age of 53. Say what you will about his job and the administration he spoke for, but Mr. Snow always brought his wit to his interviews on The Colbert Report and The Daily Show. Rest in peace, Mr. Snow, and thanks for providing so much footage for Stephen and Jon to use.
February 27, 2008: Tony Snow visits The Colbert Report.
Tony Snow’s visits to The Daily Show:
And your August 23, 2006 Moment of Zen: Tony Snow’s saxophone solo.
Tony was the guest when I went to TDS last fall, and I remember Jon telling the audience to not ‘boo’ him and to treat him with respect.
That’s probably the only reason I’m sad over this.

Rest in peace, Mr. Snow, and thanks for providing so much footage for Stephen and Jon to use.
That’s a backhanded compliment if I ever heard one.

And I think he’d appreciate it! He seemed to take their satire with good humor.
In all honesty, I respected his energy and passion for his work, though I rarely agreed with him. It’s a shame to lose him.

Rest in Peace, Tony. You will be missed.
I think he was the only likeable person in the Bush administration, to me at least.

I respected his musicianship, and I’m sorry his kids have lost their Dad.
This bud’s for you, Tony Snow.
Rest in peace.

In spite of his political views, he was a likeable fellow. And great to come on TCR.
So many great people lost this year!

Oh my god, that’s awful. Whatever you think about his politics, the man was always a good sport coming on TDS and TCR and 53 is just a horribly young age to die.

Poor guy. He played a mean jazz flute. I never knew that.
Also, does anyone else think he looks strangely like Ed Helms in that Moment of Zen?

First Tim Russert, now Tony Snow. Far be it from me to wish death on anyone (now, there’s a string of words I never thought I’d utter), but… uh, let’s just say that I could quite easily come up with a number of other media personalities whose passing I would have felt less grief over. Much less grief over.
In other words, why the nice guys? :(
A nice tribute written by Ed Henry, which mentions Snow’s interview with Stephen – http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/07/12/snow.henry.cnn/?iref=hpmostpop

My condolences and sympathy to his loved ones (particularly his wife and children). Colon cancer is awful, and 53 is too young a age to pass away at. Rest in peace, Tony.

In this case, politics doesn’t matter. A decent man has left three young children without a father, and we can all see in his TV appearances he was a good guy. RIP.

Oh, that’s terrible news. I hope his family is okay.

He was way too young to leave us like this. RIP, Tony. Our most sincere condolences to his friends and family during such a difficult time.

My prayers and condolences go out to Mr. Snow’s family. I was sorry to hear that he lost his battle with colon cancer.

Maybe now Stephen will be considered for Papa Bear’s radio show… :)
Condolences to Mr. Snow’s family and friends. I didn’t agree with his politics, but he seemed like a nice man.
