No Fact Zone bids a fond farewell to one of the minions
By
It is with a sad and heavy heart that I report that our Senior International Correspondent, Jennie, will no longer be working with us. She has received some excellent opportunities to follow in her personal life and unfortunately won’t have the time to devote to the site anymore. She, like the rest of the minions, have put in dozens, and I’d even be willing to say hundreds, of volunteer hours, contributing her time and her talents to pour content onto this site and onto Colbert University.
So I wanted to say a very public and very sincere “Thank You” to Jennie, for all she’s done for No Fact Zone and for the fandom. There are so many aspects of this site, and of our sister site, Colbert University, that simply would not exist were it not for her hard and untiring work.
She will be sorely missed. Here’s some of her contributions:
Episode Guides
Not only was she on the weekly Episode Guide rotation among the Minions, doing at least one a week, but she also did guides for over 100 episodes so that we would have guides for each and every episode of the show archived here.
Character Data
She has compiled a comprehensive (and, to me, mind-boggling) list of the quirks and character defining features of “Stephen”.
Here’s a small snippet from a small section of the show’s history (October-December 2005) – the numbers at the end correspond with the number assigned to the show:
-
Family, Friends, and Personal Relationships
- Charlene (“I’m not stalking you”) first mentioned – 1004
- Black friend Alan – 1006
–(“I was talking about this to a friend of mine last night. Alan. He’s a black guy. I gave Alan my take on Rosa Parks and you should have heard the string of expletives he started yelling. Just as mad about this as I am.”) - Wife’s name: Lorraine (mentioned in letter to her during the documentary of the Ken Burns interview) – 1010
- Troubled marriage hinted at:
- –“I just want you to know that at our Thanksgiving feast I will not chug the Merlot, call you an egomaniac who you are sorry you married, throw a drumstick at your head and go sit in the rental car for the rest of the meal. Though I know someone who will.” – 1021
- Mother’s Maiden Name: Bailey – 1021
- Grandfather sold glass bottles during the Depression – 1015
- Dog: Gipper – 1011
- Wilford Brimley — mentor (Stephen hired to shave his back during filming of The Firm) – 1014
- - spiritual advisor (Stephen suggests he play Pope John Paul in biopic) – 1027
- 1 of 11 children – 1025
- 1/3 Chickasaw (Colbert in Chicasaw means “Soar Like Eagle”) – 1028
- Named second son John Paul, after the Pope: “He’s four years old and we call him Your Holiness” – 1028
- Has 6-year-old nephew who likes to pretend he’s lit on fire – 1032
If you ever want to know every single minutae of “Stephen’s” character, Jennie has fixed it up so that you have a place to go to find it.
Zeitgeist posts
For a very long time, she was queen of the Zeitgeist posts, bringing us the jetsam and flotsam of Colbert on the Internet. That’s actually how she started helping with the site – she’d send me pages of links, and finally I said, How about I make you an account and you post all these puppies yourself?

Thank you Jennie for your amazing work, it is wonderfully integral to the fantastic ‘Colbert experience’ here at No Fact Zone.
ReCaptcha: ultimate play-last…if I could add ‘forever’ that’d be a good way to describe Jennie’s work here.
