Although I’m distressed that Stephen suffered injury, I find his look of accusatory consternation in the screencap somehow, er, cute. I know what happened isn’t funny, but he manages these great looks even in unfunny situations.

In the spirit of truthiness, I assumed that Mike Myers was mad that Stephen didn’t get the Colbert Nation to go see “The Love Guru” and so he punched him.

That’s what I thought, it was his glasses that did the damage to his lovely face. How his glasses might have done that is the mystery.

My brother, who also wears glasses, wound up looking like that when he was in an auto accident and his airbag deployed and pushed his glasses into his face. That’s not necessarily what happened to Stephen, but the injury looks similar to that.

Hope he heals quickly.

I knew I’d heard that intro before!

I feel bad for his face — his beautiful face! — but I can’t help finding it hilarious that a year after America’s wrists changed forever, he has a new body-part campaign to launch, if he’s so inclined. I hope we get at least a few more montages of face violence in the media. And imagine what FaceStrong bracelets might look like.

The timing of it was pretty odd! Stephen has a good sense of timing even when it comes to injurying himself!
