Familiar faces on “50 Coolest Celebrity Dads” list
ByTip of the hat to TWoP’s shamskygirl for this link to Babble’s “50 Coolest Celebrity Dads” list. Check out these entries from the Top Ten (internal links omitted):
The 50 Coolest Celebrity Dads
Meet the regulars at our fantasy playground
By Catherine Connors. . .
7. Steve Carell
Because although there are countless reasons to label Carell cool, the one that I’m going to go with here is that he kissed Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (no. 43 above) and compared his lips to strawberry shortcake.. . .
3. Stephen Colbert
Because he’s America’s coolest fake conservative pundit dad, and so can you!
. . .
1. Jon Stewart
Because he’s carved out an important corner in the culture wherein it’s possible to be smart and informed and funny and cool all at once, and that’s a tremendous gift to his children, and to ours.
As with any of these lists, you’ve gotta wonder about some of the entries. Nonetheless: way to go, dads!
Oh, and if you were wondering about that reference to Steve kissing Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, here’s one of the ETOnline videos from the premiere of Get Smart, including several cast members’ opinions on kissing.

Awe, my 3 (okay, 4 because I’m counting Anthony Bourdain) favorite guys are in the top 10! Props to babble.com for recognizing the inherent goodness in all of them — it’s so very hard to come by in Hollywood these days.

That’s a rather vague explanation as to why he’s on the list, isn’t it?
We already know they think Stephen’s cool because he’s on a “coolest” list. More details about what makes him cool would be, well, cool.

Agreed, considering Stephen doesn’t let his children watch the show because he doesn’t want them to confuse “Stephen” with their dad. Which in and of itself is probably the best reason to put him on the list.
But I’m all for Jason Bateman being on the list. “Arrested Development” movie, please! *grabby hands*

Wow. Just love how ET (in the second segment) switches from remembering Tim Russert to discussing bikinis. What class. Geez.
