More promos for “The Love Guru” featuring Stephen Colbert

Here’s a couple of promo videos featuring Stephen Colbert available on the official site for “The Love Guru”. Remember, the movie comes out on Friday, June 20th! Feel free to send yourself an e-card as a reminder to set that date on your calendar.

We don’t get many chances to see Stephen on the big screen, so I know I’ll be going on Friday night!

I love these. Friday cannot come soon enough. I’ll have to get a friend to go with me.

Yay DB! You found a way to embed them!

Sooooo stoked for this. Canadian hockey + Stephen + big scren = win.

    • DB says:

Yeah, I couldn’t grab the embed code in Firefox for some reason, but I could grab them in IE. Yay for the IE Tab plugin in Firefox!

I am looking forward to seeing “The Love Guru” on Friday night. I cannot wait to see Stephen’s part in this. Good Times!

  5. There’s one I’ve been seeing that I can’t seem to find ANYWHERE.

Jim Gaffigan says, “He just might be able to pull this off!” and Stephen says, “Not unlike when I was pulled off that hooker during my intervention…*chuckle*…good times.”

That second commercial posted shows the “good times” line, but I can’t find the hooker part online anywhere, lol…just thought I’d say that. X] I’m SO EXCITED for this movie!

They have five (5!!!) televison promos up on YouTube – not one is that one.

      *headdesk*

Oh, well, the movie comes out in six days. I can wait.

There was also the one they showed during The Daily Show the other night, where he said “Bing bang boom, and you’ve got a baby pachyderm” and he was all disheveled and his shirt was unbuttoned. I haven’t seen it since then, and I’m really curious as to why his shirt was unbuttoned.

The one where he’s playing with the headset, I saw for the first time earlier today and it made me snort my Dr. Pepper, quite painfully.

After watching the Wayne’s World movies today, a friend and I definitively agreed that we’re gonna go see The Love Guru on Friday as well.

    • DB says:

Ooh! Haven’t seen that one yet. Why are they not putting these things on YouTube! Most trailers have stuff that’s not in the movie, and I fear that Stephen’s bits that are in the trailer won’t all be in the movie, but hopefully they’ll be lots of bloopers and deleted scenes in the DVD extras.

      • AmandaIvy says:

Yeah, from what I’ve read the announcer’s parts were largely improvised and improvisation usually means a lot more takes than necessary and most don’t make it to the final cut. :(

  7. Lauren says:

    thankyou, thankyou, thankyou.
I am really looking foward to seeing this on Friday.

  8. Chica says:

This film has both Stephen Colbert and John Oliver in it, but I cannot bring myself to sit through the whole damn thing, let alone pay to do so.

P.S. That shrimp joke was in an episode of Golden Girls about 20 years ago, except they did it better.

  9. Chuck Noblet says:

Stephen and John Oliver are the only things in this movie that remotely interest me.

To me it looks like a bad movie.

Hopefully somebody will just upload stevens parts to youtube eventually or soemthing.

Oooh, I’m looking forward to seeing this movie! its not out here till the 1st of August though :-(

*Completely off topic*: Check out this steve carell blog for a link to an unscripted interview with him and Ann Hathaway where he mentions Stephen and the awesome idea of what character Stephen would play if he were ever on The Office!!! –

  11. ColbertFaninChicago says:

I agree with you, Chica and Noblet. I’m not going to see it. I’ll just wait for the funny parts to show up on NFZ or elsewhere.

  12. Bri says:

As much as I love Stephen he may have to wait a moment while I sit through Get Smart for Steve. I know I’ll be going to the midnight showing because I am that excited. I just wish I had a shirt or something to show my support.

Not only will I have to see The Love Guru at the theatre, but I’ll probably also have to buy the DVD for I’m sure hours of deleted scenes with Stephen’s unused lines because they couldn’t just let him talk the entire time since Mike Myers is so selfish.

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up 0

  13. Lisa says:

Having Stephen and Jim Gaffigan (“Hoooot pocket!”) together in some scenes really makes it more appealing. These much better trailers help a little too. Though, I agree with Bri. I’ve been looking forward to Get Smart for awhile — how does one choose?

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up 0

  14. Lucy says:

I see that Mike Myers will be on TDS this week. How much you wanna bet they’re going to show one of Stephen’s clips…? :-D

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up 0

    • AmandaIvy says:

I didn’t even think about that! Lol. That would be awesome to see how they’d play that off, since “Stephen” has a personal vendetta against Jon and The Daily Show.

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up 0

  15. SD says:

Well, I know this is lame, but I don’t want “The Love Guru” to beat “Get Smart” at the box office on opening weekend, so I’ll wait to see Stephen.

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up 0

    • AmandaIvy says:

You’re not the only one. I mean, I’m most likely going to see both (because there’s really nothing better to do on a weekend in Small Town, USA than go to the movies), but I think “Get Smart” will be the better of the two, despite my love for Stephen, John Oliver and Mike Myers.

I’m excited about The Love Guru, but I’m ecstatic about Get Smart, and I have been since I first started seeing commercials for it.
