These are very special pictures, because they’re from a long-time friend of the blog, Rachel Sklar. She was there to celebrate the win of the Huffington Post’s Webby award. But these pictures are super special because she really is a huge fan of Stephen Colbert. One of her HuffPo posts was actually used during Stephen’s Webby presentation. So way to go, Rachel! Congrats on your award, and your brief meeting with Stephen.

Stephen Colbert, in a moment of rest (actually, in a moment of irritation at having his dinner interrupted by the awkward girl from the Huffington Post asking clumsily for a picture when really she wanted to say “Stephen! It’s Rachel! Remember that time when I wrote about your WristStrong bracelets?”) Er, sorry for interrupting your dinner.

These pictures are excellent. I think they are the best ones I’ve seen from the Webby Awards. I LOVE the one of Stephen sitting at the table.

I wonder who sat at Stephen’s table. I’m sure the dinner conversation couldn’t have been that boring with him there…even if Stephen only shared five words.
Since the event began at 7, he must have had to sprint over there after his show finished for the evening. Between the Peabody Awards, his show and Bloomsday all taking place on Monday, he is booked! I hope he gets some rest after next week.
