If I ever have the opportunity to meet Stephen again, I’m packing a necktie. I need, ummm, lessons.

i want stephen to comb my hair. also, i think i would classify his casual style as “sexy frumpy.”

    • ColbertGirl27 says:

“Sexy frumpy.” Brilliant! You captured it! Only Stephen could pull off that look:)

OMG THAT WAS MADE OF WIN! So many squeal-tastic moments!

  5. Mothmish says:

And he has a LOTR pinball machine! Of course. How cute!

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up 0

    • We had that same pinball machine at the place I worked at a few years ago. It’s sort of the best pinball machine ever. :P Of course it’s one of those lame things where I can say, “omg stephen has the same pinball machine that i used to play on my breeeeaaaks.”

  6. Gaia Faye says:

    LOL That was great.

But now I want a sandwich.

Omg. Stephen combed his hair. I’d never heard of this show before but this was amazing. I’m wondering if he knows Stephen or if he just lucked out on the interview. I love the glimpses into Stephen’s office.

ooh weird recaptcha just gave me numbers, that’s new.

  10. tiger says:

THAT is excellent my friends. I was actually laughing (the way I do for TCR) when Stephen was offended that he was “just a guest.” I like the guests on the index cards in the office too!

  11. Lisa says:

That was so wonderful — I love watching Stephen out of character. *sigh*

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one trying to read the index cards in the background. I loved looking at all the trinkets and things fans have sent in over the years all over his office. Gotta love the Nation…

    • Tiger and Lisa, I was trying to read the index cards in the background too.

This video was a great find! I love seeing Stephen out of character. Thank you Hilary, DB and MsI.

Thanks for posting that! Can I just say that Stephen looks good enough to eat in that clip? Oh my. And the hands..okay, I have no idea where that fangurl came from, apologies.

I agree, glimpses of the office were great and I love Mr. Colbert out of character.

  13. superduper says:

    All I’ll say is:

he has a guitar! he has a guitar!
(that just made him 10 levels sexier just by having one casually put in the corner of his office.)

    • Megan says:

I agree with this comment; I thought the same thing when I saw it, too.

    SO. MUCH. WIN. *flails*

Anybody else notice the award he decided not to give Bush hanging behind his Emmys? “From: Stephen Colbert; To: George W. Bush; To Recognize That You Are President of the United States.” HEE.

    • Megan says:

I noticed that, too. I feel bad that he has a ‘shoulda, woulda, coulda’ about that night.

That was awesome! I love when Stephen was on the elliptical machine in the beginning, and when Stephen was showing him how to tie a tie. Thanks to Hilary, DB and Ms I for sharing! :)

  19. superduper says:

i looked dan levy up. apparently he really did get a jumpstart to his career as a comedian:

Enrolled at Emerson College in Boston, Dan jump-started his career as a stand-up comedian while maintaining his full-time student status. By the end of his freshman year, Dan performed regularly at The Comedy Connection, Nick’s Comedy Stop, and The Comedy Studio. He spent that summer interning for “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” and performing at various New York City venues, such as The Comic Strip Live.

Ah that explains a lot. I take it Stephen was still at TDS at the time. Nice of Stephen to take the time to help out a former intern.
