Yay, a UMASS mention! If Stephen wants an honorary PHD from UMASS Amherst, I could “doctor” up my bachelor’s degree for him. But he deserves the real thing.

Another thing that I liked about this episode was Stephen’s interaction with the applauding audience at the top of the show. I always love watching this and I found it especially fun to watch last night.

Actually, there was a bug named after Stephen. Diamphipnoa colberti. Stonefly species from Chile. Someone posted about it on the Colboard in March.

It’s supposed to be the television station.

In all honestly though, I was curious to see if there really was a WPTS because Patterson Springs is an hour and a half from where I live, then I remembered that there’s really only one local news station in NC this side of Charlotte, and it’s WLOS, based here in Asheville. I’ve even been in some parts of South Carolina and they had WLOS on. So, unfortunately, in all actuality, there is no WPTS, at least not anymore, if there ever was. They either watch Charlotte based news, or WLOS.

Still, its an entertaining thought.

I cant believe the things that guy was saying, leave taxes where they are? Sure if you wanna see this country die off in a couple of years. Taxes need to go way up for those on the top end of things, but we’d all have to take the hit somehow.

The town the station is in is PatTerson Springs, North Carolina (an actual town), so it’s a semi-acronym, which I think is common practice in the actual naming of stations.

Stephen had some good retorts initially w/ Norquist (Idaho bunkers, 19th C m.o.) but I thought he’d end it with a better zinger. I was hoping for more of his classic “reel ‘em in then nail ‘em technique” a la Dinesh D’Souza.
