Yay! Comedy Central has the Stephen Colbert and Rain Dance-off video posted!
Super special thanks to Truth McTruthersons over at ColbertPics.com who stayed up late to cap the show for all of us last night. Here’s lots of pics of Rain and Stephen during their dance off.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to the lovely anonymous poster. I am going to have to watch this video over and over again. I am going to be dead for my 8 am class :( Oh well, it’s worth it. The Colbert Report is way too awesome to come on so late at night. How am supposed to function tomorrow, Stephen!

I think the jacket flip is my favorite!
Sorry. Just had to add that.

Me too:)

Me three. I would so wear that jacket actually.

I couldn’t avert my gaze from Stephen’s gut in that tight black shirt. It’s a reminder to us all that he’s just like you and me.
(HAHA, SWC flashback: “they’re just like you and me!”)
Still, he’s one hot potato ;)
Shout Out (Hey!):

gut and his butt too :) those pants are a little tight, but he did a great job
Shout Out (Hey!):
0
Me too:) It complements the end of his Korean video when he “dehoods.”
Shout Out (Hey!):

Well, it is not enough to see who Rain really is! He could do better than this.
Perpaps next time..

Heee. I will NEVER tire of this video. A nice joke I just noticed? Stephen whistling the opening notes to the show’s theme song.
Shout Out (Hey!):

Ahhhh!!! I noticed that too. And loved it!

I just wanna say, thank you to everyone for sharing and uploading this video clip. I know the RAIN fans are also waiting patiently for this dance off as well. The outcome was better than i expected. it’s freakin’ hilariou. With this dance off, I hope Colbert gain more fans among Rain fans as well. Not that some of us aren’t, among the fans, there are some that like COLBERT. Anyway, the man know what he’s doing and totally awesome and good at his humors. Hope to see great stuff from him as well. Again, THANK YOU for the great blogger and all for sharing. – cecilia

AHAHAHAHAHAHA!! OMG. Hilarious.
I loved the cameo by Juan at the end. That set me off laughing hysterically all over again.
Shout Out (Hey!):

Juan cracked me up too – so funny that they didn’t just pretend it had started raining!
Shout Out (Hey!):

Thanks for the screencaps! These are great.

I also loved the jacket flip.
And at the end when Stephen’s like “you did that on purpose!” lol
Shout Out (Hey!):

AWESOME!!! Thanks for the video and the caps! :D

I didn’t get the quarter thing? Great video though. I caught the red pants thing and laughed so hard. I love when Stephen reveals his manly Adam’s apple…
Shout Out (Hey!):
0
The quarter was to start the DDR machine.
Shout Out (Hey!):
0
ah, i sadly have never attempted DDR so have no clue how it works. I love how he brought up Speed Racer after we had already seen pictures from the premiere. He is the best.
Shout Out (Hey!):
0
Question… am I wrong in being slightly disturbed that he looks like he pulled the quarter out of his crotch? Lol.
Shout Out (Hey!):
0
?! Haha. I’ll have to look at that segment again.

Rain is amazing, this was very funny and I truly enjoyed this. Couldn’t stop laughing, thanks Colbert. Sexy Rain, so talented. Gonna see speed racer at the Imax on Friday.
Shout Out (Hey!):

Oh. My. God.
One of the greatest segments ever: the set up, the red pants, the moves, the DDR and sparks, and the capper with the hose. Hysterical.
This show is pure genius.

family friendly, family friendly, family friendly…
the bicep! The lying down! The dancing, the dancing!

Thank you Truth McTruthersons. I have some new desktop pictures now. Who agrees with me? Stephen has never looked sexier. I love the whole thing!!! Probably my favorite music bit. I love how DDR blew up at the end.

This is going to completely give away my soft spot for the blue collar vibe, but at the first shot of Stephen tinkering with the camera, I couldn’t help but think of the Exit 57 “Roofers” sketch (which I will confess right here that I watch repeatedly). There’s something about seeing Stephen with his hair mussed, in a tee shirt and jeans and a tool belt that totally makes my day!
Shout Out (Hey!):

That’s one of my favorites!!!

I know I’m double-posting, but this is on a completely separate angle – It’s segments like these that highlight the amazing directing, designing, and editing that goes into this show. They couldn’t possibly have had much rehearsal or performance time, so the execution of the lighting, camera shots and editing had to make the most of what they were going to be able to shoot. The final product always comes off so polished in both content and look that I don’t think anyone outside the production really understands how much they do with so little planning time and execution time. Seriously – EMMY PLEASE!!

Very nice camera work, and production, yes!
Waiting for a screen cap of the Shelby GT in front of the studio. Two of my favorite things in one shot.

Did anyone else really miss having the live audience there to provide some dynamic energy? I always like the cheering and applauding for both sides of any challenge.
I can understand the movie setting the bit was trying to get with the late-night faux-garage “I’m sorry we’re closed come back tomorrow” line (hmm, feels like the word ‘rival’ should have been used at some point on the show), but I kinda wish the dance off had more “fireworks” and rockstarshow feel to it.
Shout Out (Hey!):

I have a feeling had Stephen and Rain taped this with a live audience, it probably would’ve taken them forever as I’m sure there would be fangirling aplenty. Though, I would give me left pinky toe to have been there…
(Funny Captcha: Button methods! Hahaha!)

I thought they did a great job with the segment, through and through. The Rain sites I’ve seen (that are in English, anyway) seem very positive about the appearance, with the only (mild) complaint being that they wanted Rain to do an interview, too.
Given the scheduling difficulties (Rain taped this segment in early-to-mid afternoon before catching a flight to London, IIRC), I don’t think there would have been any way to record it in front of an audience. Fabulous end result, though.

Good point: judging by the fan-documentation of his every move in the U.S., Rain was only in New York for a few hours. Amazing he could still perform like that — I’d be stiff and jet-lagged and begging for coffee!

the man is actually a workaholic….i am surprised he has not burned out yet..i don’t think he has had a break since he debuted…he is all over the place
Shout Out (Hey!):

Sounds like one thing that he and Stephen have in common, then.
Shout Out (Hey!):

I know where you’re coming from and I would have much preferred a live performance as well, but considering Rain’s hectic schedule, I think Stephen and his staff pulled off an amazing show!
P.S. Wish they had simultaneously sung “Singing in Korean.” Haha.

This was a win-win situation for both Rain and Colbert! I have American roots going back to the Mayflower, but became a huge fan of Asian superstar Rain before I had ever heard of the American comedian Colbert – go figure! LOL! Found out about Stephen because of this rivalry and I now think he’s hilarious! Glad this worked out so well for both of them!
