Due to a, shall we say, TiVo malfunction, we’ve got another day before this is complete. So please, enjoy these vids in the interim (after the cut). Thank you.
Intro – 4/22/08
Clinton accuses Obama of copycatting, Stephen better knows Pennsylvania’s 7th district and Susan Jacoby takes on America’s anti-intellectualism.
Earth Is Awesome
In honor of Earth Day, Stephen participates in a little interplanetary trash talk.
Obama Copycattery
Hillary Clinton was the Democratic frontrunner until Barack Obama thought it looked like fun and decided to give it a try, too.
Indecision Cheesesteaks
Pat’s cheesesteaks are more experienced and Clintonian, while Geno’s cheesesteaks are like Obama’s fresh face.
Better Know a District – Pennsylvania’s 7th – Joe Sestak
Congressman Sestak will neither confirm nor deny the Navy’s dolphin-mounted anti-missile laser defense systems.
Susan Jacoby
Susan Jacoby and Stephen debate the importance of reason, the benefits of elitism and how much she owes him in truthiness residuals.
A “TiVo malfunction”? Poor DB! I hope you get it fixed soon.
I do have to say Susan Jacoby was very… enthusiastic. She clearly enjoyed herself.

@AmandaIvy: Haha. Yes, she did seem enthusiastic, but in a rather grating way.
I personally found Susan Jacoby incredibly annoying. She kept trying to be funny and it didn’t work. Stephen still did a great job, but this might be one of my least favorite guests.

@ColbertGirl27–
I agree. I was trying to be nice. Lol. Stephen did do a great job though and she did have some valid points.

Yes, she did have some valid points. Her personality was just offsetting. Kudos to you being nice about it. I guess I’m just bitter…but I swear I don’t own a gun:)

Sorry to be taking over the board here, but what was Stephen referring to at the very end of the show last night when he said “You may know what’s coming, but that won’t make it any easier”? If I’m missing the obvious, please forgive.
Also felt weird to hear no applause at the very end of the show and just see Stephen spinning in his chair. Haha.

He meant that the end of the show is coming. Very sad I know.

OK. So I missed the obvious. Hopefully my mind will be as sharp as Stephen’s someday.
I actually do feel sad at the end of each show.

@ ColbertGirl27–
Sure you don’t own a gun, but are you from Pennsylvania? Maybe that’s the real reason behind the supposed bitterness of the Pennsylvanians. :)

I love how he threw in that bit about cable TV – from the SWC movie. If you’ve watched the commentary, he talks about it more in there too. Basically, if you pay for cable and you’re not watching it 24 hours a day, that’s money down the drain!
