    Thanks for posting!

It never ceases to amaze me how much he really gets away with. He takes verbal stabs at someone or something and in the same breath he praises them.

Sorry for the double post (It adds to a good cause though, so I shouldn’t feel bad), and sorry this is probably way OT.

I just stumbled onto this video, and it just made me laugh really hard watching Stephen totally lose it during this interview. Not to mention the fact that Richard Lewis looked like he was going to jump over the desk and eat them.

Good times…I’m replaying the “Crypt Keeper” video in my head now. Hehehe…

Wow, my first thought was, “is he drunk!?” The way Tucci was leading Stephen to the podium, the way Stephen grabbed at the microphone right before the podium, and then the way he kept reaching towards his pocket a few times without taking his notecards out yet seriously looked like he was drunk. lol.

  5. AmandaIvy says:

Ha ha, I don’t think he was drunk. There was definitely something going on backstage though, and I think he just got a little flustered at missing his cue. I can see where you’re coming from though. He did look a little wobbly for a second when he first came out.

I wonder what he’s like when he really is drunk…

    @ AmandaIvy:

Well, he did once say that if you get him drunk enough, his SC accent comes back.

“if you get him drunk enough, his SC accent comes back.”

That I’d love to see! He just seemed flustered here :)

    rebnej–

That would be really entertaining to see. They should do some sort of segment reminiscent of the TDS segment he did on “Responsible Drinking” with Steve Carell, only with a role reversal.

    @ AmandaIvy:

That certainly would be funny, but I think the chances of it actually happening are slim to none. Steve Carell’s original idea behind the “Responsible Drinking” segment was that BOTH he and Stephen would get drunk and film it, and Stephen said something along the lines of “No, I really think one of us should be sober, and I really think it should be me.” : ) He knew better than to get drunk on camera. (Tidbit: Steve Carell later said that he really did throw up in the car, which was actually Stephen’s wife’s car.)

Yeah, I’d heard the story behind the responsible drinking segment. Poor Steve! That had to be so embarrassing to watch and know that America was watching it too.

I agree, it would be a slim to none chance, I guess because he knows better. Still though, I love that someone- I think it was Paul Dinello- was quoted as saying something along the lines of “He’s like a wall of encyclopedias that likes to drink beer.”

that was a real awkward thing at the beginning there, the man looked like he was going to shake Stephen’s hand but then it ended up being more like a body grab.
as always, Colbert inspires me to my own public speaking greatness. although I can’t just insult people all the time…

in any event, thanks for the video!

Good find with that Richard Lewis clip!!! I love how Steve Carell freaks out and starts sweating and Stephen just completely loses it with the Carvel to H&R Block bit.

    Good stuff!

Thanks for that great video as I hadn’t seen that one before! I almost enjoy Stephen Colbert more when he is cracking up. This is probably a better known one, but here you go: http://www.glumbert.com/media/colbertloses

    @ColbertGirl27–

I have seen that one before, but I’m *always* up for watching it again! I never get tired of it.

I’m so glad that TDS and TCR keep major crack-ups like that in the show. They’re always hilarious. It just goes to show that they are human and even the seemingly unflappable Colbert cracks sometimes.

One person I don’t think I’ve EVER seen crack up is Steve Carell. I’m sure he has before.

Thank you for posting that DB. I’ve never seen that one. Who decides what clips to put up? I love these! It is so cute to see Stephen and Jon when they laugh at something. The fact that they leave those in just makes the shows more enjoyable. Seeing them be humans. Hey, the Report is back today (21st). YEAH I survived another weekend!

I put up the vids in the sidebar depending on what mood I’m in or what I find entertaining at the time. But for the site, we put up what we find, what we think people might enjoy. All of us that post have posted vids at one time or another – it just depends on what we find.

@AmandaIvy: After visiting Colbert University, I realize that I chose to feature the most obvious video, but thanks for appreciating it anyway:)
