If you’re a peruser of the blogosphere, you might just say …. here. How do we know this? Let’s just say a little birdie blogger told us. We’ve made contact with the tipster and we’ll keep you informed on how this project goes as we hear more.
(h/t Caitlin for the scoop!)
Holy crap! That’s just a couple of hours north of where I live! My cousin and his family live there, too. I will definitely have to make a day trip.

I need to know when. I may have to send my grandmother on a mission when she goes back up to Missouri to pick up my great-grandmother.

After that it needs to come somewhere in Southeast Michigan or Toledo Ohio. Toledo Museum of Art would be nice.

Very cool — nice work, Nation! And no, I swear, I won’t say anything about the “v” vs. the “ph”. I promise. Not one word.

Cool! I remember going to that museum with with my mom and aunts when I was a child. I’m sure Stephen knows his Mark Twain.
I have to say that I didn’t care for the blogger’s jabs at people who came to love SWC after the show had been cancelled. Many of us didn’t know about this show (or Stephen) back when it originally aired. I’d like to get in a “quote off” with her. :-)

That is TOO COOL!

Well isn’t that nice of the Smithy to lend out the painting that should remain in their halls forever.

I have to agree with One of the Heroes on the SWC thing.
I was only 10 when Strangers With Candy first started airing. Obviously I wouldn’t have watched it back then. What matters is that we enjoy it, even if we just recently discovered it.
I’ll join you in the quote-off!
Ahem, back on topic… I unfortunately don’t live anywhere near Missouri… *sigh* I didn’t get a chance to see it at the National Portrait Gallery either. Hmph. Nothing ever happens here in North Carolina! lol.

My father’s mother was Mark Twain’s first cousin. I would be so honored to have Stephen’s portrait in my “cousin’s” boyhood home.

I live in Missouri, that’s cool.

@Amanda
I have to agree with you there, lived in NC my entire life. Lovely state really, but not much going on…
Seriously though, the Portrait should go on tour all over the country, boosting museum attendence everywhere.
